Dell Laptop Questions

Carry case needed? I will be taking it to Vegas etc. Do you put laptops in your suitcase or take them on as hand luggage? I don't need it on the plane but it might get stolen from my suitcase?

Last couple of times I've flown anywhere, I've been informed that a laptop actually isn't luggage at all; it counts as a 'personal item' which can be carried onto the plane.

The rule appears to be, one carry-on piece of luggage and one personal item - and stow everything else. I found this out when trying to combine laptop and carry-on luggage into one rucksack; airport security actually advised me to carry the laptop separately in future because they need to give them special attention and it's a pain for all concerned to have to open up hand-luggage to retrieve a laptop (and then repack it of course)...

Also check out the Dell outlet store for pre-specced items.  I found my 17" WUXGA on there for £400 less than the equivalent new price at the time and you get all the same guarantees.

Problem is you can't define the spec (bit like a second hand car) so its a case of searching for one that fits your needs and then snapping it up!
