I'd like some opinions on two hands I played in a deepstack (10,000 chips) stt home game last night:

1) Nine handed, blinds 50-100, second orbit of the game. You're on the button (stack of c.9000) and limp in blind after there are two limpers in front of you. SB folds, BB checks

Four of you see a flop of: 10c-2c-3c

BB (a good solid player who covers you) bets 400 it folds to you and you peak down at two spades-3s.

What's your move?

2) 7 handed - Blinds 300-600 you are in early mid pos with about 18,000 in chips: UTG+1 (you cover he has c.14000) limps for 600 (he'd limped a lot and had folded to re-raises so doesn't really indicate strength). You limp with -9s. Folds to the SB (similar stack size to yourself) who completes and the BB raps the table.(pot 2400)

Flop: -2s-Qd

SB checks
BB: goes all-in for 2700
UTG+1: Flat calls the 2700
You???

I'll post any subsequent action a bit later.

1: unless i know how the plays ect i flat call. you have position on the turn and can't get too aggressive with two pair early on with a scary board. be prepared to lay it down to a scary turn. if it comes another rag and he bets then raise.

2: re-raise all-in. UTG+1 possibly has A-rag of spades. this is why i wouldn't want to be just calling. he couldn't call the all-in because he has a good stack back and would have to give you respect for a set of deuces to come over the top like that.

I like the idea of pushing with the 2nd hand.

But i think a flat call in the first example is too weak for my liking.  If you've got 9k chips, & the pot is 750 ish, then 400 to call is giving him a cheap chance to draw.  Ask him the question, make it 2k to go.  If he screams back at you, you can fold & still have plenty of play, but you're at least giving yourself a pop at it.

Also it's a home game - lean back , fold your arms & grin at him, cheshire cat stylee.  Have some fun with him.

But that's just the sort of thing I'd do .........

1st hand : i flat call here also i want to see a spade on the turn is the dream card if the next cards comes wacky  something around a 10 that you would limp with then take it slower but you have flopped a big hand here with 2 of you in you got to maxmize this esp in a stt format where you need everychip

2nd hand : i got to ask the utg+1 does he play live often and does he know the normall thing to do with an all-in player? if he does we got to flat call AND check the turn we want to knock a player out and if you raise and you miss and utg+1 would of won then you have just made the comp harder for yourself, the player all-in makes a huge diffrence to how i play this hand

without the player all-in i may well still flat call but im not passing the hand and hope he bets on the turn and leaves himself enough to pass to a re-raise we got a big draw and a chance to get alot of chips if he calls we still got plently of outs he could well be betting 2nd pair and pass on the turn but we pick up an extra few k here

1) Im raising here almost all of the time. Almost every card in the deck scares the living shote out of you and raising now allows you to (probably) control the pot size on future streets. OBV 9JQ cards are the worst thing you want to see. If a brick falls, like for example a 6, ill be putting immense pressure on my opp to fold on the turn.

2) Your hand aint that big and i dont want to raise into a dry pot with a draw. Think about it. You are LOSING value by raising here and getting rid of a player. I flat call and really want to see the 10,  the spade isnt ideal.
