9-9-9 (not an emergency)

Is it just me, or does anyone else find that when they have 9-9 they hit a set so much more often than when they hold any other pair? Just curious as it's happened four or five times in my last two online sessions. These sites must be rigged, I tell ya

For me i have to say 10-10 is my hand for hitting a set most times.
6-6 never does- has to be the worst hand in poker!!!!!! never play it (well of course i do but i never seem to win with it!)
while i was writing, diceman replies with completey the opposite lol!

It is daft, because the last time I had 9-9 I called a huge raise because I really thought I would hit - and sure enough I did. Lost to a bigger set though, bugger.
I get a few with 6-6 and 10-10. too, but nines are unbeatable. If I play you, and there's a nine on the flop - FOLD!

I called a 3 bet today with 99 and hit a set:D
set mining reminds me of playing a fruit machine, the 3 cards on the flop come down like the reels on the machine. Come on 9, come on 9, booom, jackpot

I think someone should put up a poll of most winning sets, then we can prove the whole things is, er, completely random

Sevens for me recently. Fives a while back (in one tournament I saw a set of fives about half a dozen times, not just for me of course).
Had 44 the other day in a cash game. I like the little fellas and am usually willing to call a standard raise to hopefully make a fair bit when I flop my set. But when it was raised and then re-raised I was worried that a call would then be met with another raise and I'd end up having to lay them down. So I folded. The original raiser merely called - and no I wouldn't have hit a set on the flop - the 445 flop would have given me quads...
When the two players decided to get busy on that flop in a rush to get all their chips in I couldn't believe it. Playing 50c/$1 - the $150 in the pot that would have been very attractive, and all mine. What did they have? AK v JJ.
Who wants the 50p?

I find that when I'm up against pocket 7's with aces or kings, the 7's always hit for some reason.
7's is the thing for me

I get lucky with
too, I once played a single session of about an hour long, during which time I had 99 5 times, and flopped a set each time. One of those times I was up against a flush, but filled up.
