I was sitting in a cash game at the Gutshot at 4am on Sunday morning....

Robert HM is sitting opposite me

The flop is KK9 or summat and I represent the K twice in position and then RHM checks the river....Green Light...bet again, to face the immortal line from my lawyerly friend

"I bet the pot"

£140 invested, I pass

Owned.  Embarrassed

Sorry, part 2

Remember the chap in Seat 1 saying "how could he do that to a friend?!", that made me think a bit but I know you wouldn't have accepted softplay either way.

I wouldn't RHM, And nor would any Blondeite methinks. Well played.

the check raise on the river requires some sophistication and a knowledge that one's opponent is going to bet...serves me right for contributing to strategy posts!!

fortunately the rest of the game was soft!

(except for M3Boy, who is probably the most aggressive player to hit the £50 game at the Gutshot since it opened...student after student sat down with their £50 and £100...only to disappear muttering within the hour!!)

OK I'll let you into a secret, before that night the biggest cash game I had been involved in was at the same place, the £50 PLHE, the blinds being 25p/50p and a max of £50 being allowed to be brought in. When I came to the £100 pound table the other night I nealry didn't play when I was told that £100 was the MIN. I thought I was going to get away with the £40 worth of chips I had burning a hole in my pocket from an earlier night. I thought I would look a wuss if I legged it so chucked some notes in and got on with it, I watched you and M3Boy play and got a grip of what was happening and just rocked up and walloped in if I hit. You were both aggressive and flaming scarey so I just tried to follow the Masters. It was a hot sweaty, smelly, night but the worst place you could find night was in my Y-fronts!

a) you're a good player

b) if you were nervous, it didn't show...too much practice in front of the bench probably!

c) these compliments are not on legal aid, I expect payment by return

p.s M3 did bluff you off one hand with  Two Diamonds on a board resembling  jc kh ts   Grin

I think Kev's "the fish pond downstairs" is a bit near the knuckle. There were some tidy players there.

And "I'm a novice" Robert was on fire. I wander across to see him involved in this flop.......

   three clubs

He "mouths" to me "Ive got trips", & bets, gets a caller.

After the turn, it looks like this..... three clubs three diamonds

Hmm, I think, he's got the boat now. Check, Geezer behind him bets, he smooth calls.

And on the river, it was.....

  three clubs three diamonds ah

Robert bets the pot, Geezer dwells, then calls with his A, Robert shows, amazingly,  asp, what a beautiful river THAT was!, & he takes down another £300. The man's an animal.

By now, of course, Kiv had disappared, The Vic bound, never to be seen again until 0200 Monday at the Vic upstairs Bar. He did not look at ALL well, & had his y-fronts on the OUTSIDE of his trousers, but he had not noticed. Tired & emotional, as they say.

I knew you would do well Tikay, I think i set it up for you when the bloke on the dodgy P.A. system excitedly announced that the sponsors had added 10k to the comp, i announced that they had in fact donated 10,500, cos they paid for you to enter and that was dead money Smiley  Those other blokes paid you off all the time ...the usual fee by way of reward can be sent to my account Wink

I must say, you did seem a lot happier and relaxed knowing that you didnt have to do the updates  ... big up to Heid for such a sterling effort, and for Robert for buying me my first drink of the evening Smiley

I arrived back in Colchester at about 5.30pm, came straight on here to try and catch up, then sat on my sofa for 10 mins before i unpack my bags ......woke up about 5 minutes ago, and bag is still full and in the hallway lol....I loved every minute of the trip and despite the "Jet Lag" type symptoms ....I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE Smiley

To this poor fella on UB cash last week:

Seated in SB when it's my BB. Three consecutive times he tries to nick my BB after the whole table passes to us.

First time I reraise with KK.

Second time I reraise with AA and I take his $200 stack. He had TT.

Third time I have the boots again (he had QQ) and after doing $200 more he's off.

Whoever you are.... sorry pal.
