We love this race at our house
Pete - Knows more about racing than most Shelly - Picks horses by the rider Jayde - always picks the favorite Jazz - A pretty girly name or if the jokey is wearing a nice colour (usually pink lol)
And yes jazz is miles in front of all of us!!
So what you all backing this year

Joes edge for me.If he can run up to his cheltenham form must have a great chance. He ran well last year for a long way,and he had'nt been in any kind of form.Ferdy murphy's stable is in great form so its joes edge for me.

haven't picked one yet...if Laddies do the same as last year (Irish 123@25-1 )I'll probably go with that..though last year clan royal did me on the line for that...blah

I see Joes edge has had alot of money on it!
Longshanks is trained by kim bailey who was Mr Frisks trainer maybe worth a bet.

Tempted by L'Ami and because I've backed it twice and it should have won the first time, Clan Royal.
May have another one too, undecided as yet.

have to back joes edge, sons called joe.i think he hes got a massive chance anyway.this is a wide open national and with the ground being so fast i cant see many lasting the distance.i was at aintree yesterday and it was really hot,its forcast the same today and tommorow so i cant see the watering making a huge difference. i had a fancey for mckelvey but i think its a non runner.ill be back at aintree tommorow so hopefully i will have made my mind up by then. if anyone is going to be on the embankment i am working with east midlands racing, come and say hi.

OK..just had a look through the form and all that and billyvoddan is the one for me. Never been in better form and if he ever wins it this will be his time.20-1 is a fair price me thinks. though he might drift a bit on the day as everyone finally make a desicion and the housewives pick their winner.

ive drawn up a shortlist from reading through the racing part of the paper , i only bet big on horses once a year so ...
in order ( favourite first )
Billyvoddan - great stamina
Numbersixvalverde - done it last year , no reason why he cant do it again this year ? Point Barrow - won the Irish National , what better reason do you need ? see valverde for proof of Irish winners
Simon - only if going is good to soft - which is unlikely i think
Dun Doire - in with a good shout
Longshanks - fresh and on form
Silver Birch - again if going is soft cant be ruled out
Joes Edge - well backed and has a chance
Le Duc - good on fences and and decent form lately
any ''experts'' opinions on these choices and the going ( good , soft , firm )
also , best odds / bookies to place these bets would be a help
cheers , BT
