Congrats to Phil and unlucky Eck (not that I know who u are sorry), a crazy harsh way to lose.
Thanks to Des, Tighty and Tikay for putting on another great event. I think we all appreciate immensley the work you guys put in, not just on the day but in the weeks and months preceeding.
A point aside, apologies I had to get away Des, Ill be honoured to help out next event.
One point for next time, can you make sure you invite the Scottish popstar wannabe guy again, hes not my cup of tea, but if he brings his girlfriend along again Ill be a happy man indeed - Des I am expecting some crafty pic coverage, dont let the side down!!!
Agree with everything Max says, especially about Beckham and his missus!!! Anyone know how far he got, i was sat next to him for a while and he was a bag of nerves poor lad, I sent him outside for a break when he went from 3.5k in chips to 42k in half an hour, he couldnt pick his chips up!

Dublin. June. Confirmed details in the next few weeks
David Beckham and his missus...Jamie and Tara. Livened up my weekend. He wasn't too amused when I asked him whether he was in McFly or Busted? He lasted til late on first day. As a special treat for APAT members I arranged for tikay to interview them for Poker Week (Sky Sports channels Thrus/Fri 26-27 April)...look out for the interivew...lol

Just got back from Edinburgh and want to say a big thanks to all the APAT team who worked tirelessly to put on an excellent event.
I thought the venue was super they really looked after us with great dealers, staff and buffet! Oh and a dice table which was a bonus.
Played with some v.nice folks, hats off to duncthehat, he really steam roller-ed the first table I was on, never really knew where I was so tried to stay out off his way. He really deserved a big cash and was v.unlucky to have the B.B. wake up with a monster.
Played the £20 rb in the evening at the Maybury (10th
) where I had to endure a nice "are you bullying me chant" when I went all in
, only for the main event winner to turn over
Highlight had to be the crazy sng, where we had to keep getting told to keep quiet as we were having too much fun!!
Thanks again to Tikay, Tighty and Des, my conclusion is that for players who can't afford big buyin tournies (me) this is such an excellent event, it provides a real benchmark for your longer game and personally I have taken alot from it, watch out in the next one!!

Shame I couldn't make this weekend. Sounds like it was a blast as usual.
Congrats to everyone involved, especially RichD for making it 2 final tables in a row. What an achievement!

Can I also add a big thank you to Tighty, Des and Tikay too for working their buts off all weekend, well apart from when Tikay was napping (AGAIN) that is.
I hope to god my interview with Tikay never sees the light of day, especially as Posh and Becks were on straight after me.

Just got back from Edinburgh after a top weekend.
Big thanks to Des, Tikay & Richard for yet another fantastic event. Also thanks to Gala for looking after us so well, the staff & dealers were excellent and the buffet was top notch.
I went out 22nd in the end. I had a playable stack but got moved to the table of death with chips everywhere, every pot was getting raised early and I couldn't find a spot to get my chips in first. Eventually I found AK in the SB and all fold to me and I push (actually I had only seen the king and decided they had to go in). MickyP was in the BB with only a few thousand more than me and made a brave call with pocket 3's. No help and I was out, good call mate. Absolutely gutted to go out. I felt I played really well all day, I had laid down some big hands and kept my patience when things were not going so well. No complaints.
Returned on Sunday to rail the final. Well played Eck, so unlucky with the K9 insta call by the champion for all his chips. Well done to Mr Starrs for a great performance. I feel the standard of APAT events is getting better all the time, it was a real grind on Saturday and some top poker was played. Must tell everyone about the play of the tournament by Kinboshi. All fold to button who raises the standard amount. Dan is the SB and goes into the tank for several minutes before flat calling. The flop is jack high rainbow and Dan bets out, the button quickley puts him all in for his tournament. Again he goes into the tank and folds pocket queens face up... the button showed pocket aces, amazing fold. My chips would have been in so fast pre flop, but thats why he is the English champ and I'm not. Amazing play mate.
The APAT goes from strength to strength. The atmosphere is truely unique and the tournaments are so much fun to play. I cannot wait till Ireland, see you all in Dublin.
I know I am going on a bit now, but a quick quiz question to end with.
Q: How does a 10 player SNG freezeout with a £10 buy in end up with a total prize fund of £290???
Answers on a postcard...
