Haven't managed to play a live or online tourney for ages.
Once again going to miss out tomorrow with going out in Leeds. Must remember to keep my SAFC roots quiet.

Said yourself that if the runners increase that will mean a later finish and rule out sundays. So Fridays appear a better option already!

The only way forward is a census of opinion.  That way nobody can argue as its clearly for the benefit of the majority.

but you would have the same argument, some people go out on Fridays

Why not start at 6pm on a Sunday?  That could be an option.

Or another possibility is having it on different nights throughout the season, so that those who can't play on a specific night of the week get at least some opportunity to play. 

Just some thoughts...
