was 5/8 with 100k     blinds 4-8k.

ss utg  pushes for 52k     i almost double the bet at 100k  wit       j j ,

what  range of hands could the button  then push all in with  for 170k total  to risk the majority of their stack to 2 prior all ins??

and why??

Assume this is a bad beat moan. He could push with 1010 or even AK here, not the strangest plays iv seen. But i think i would need Kings to ship here, Queens is a a pass.
The range of hands he needs should be tiny. He is risking over half his healthy stack agaisnt two prior all-ins, one from a player who has plenty so wont be commiting without a big pair or AK.

Let me guess he had 99 or AK and spiked?

A big pair. QQ+ BTW.. What position were you in? If you were shortly after UTG I don't like your push at all. JJ is a very dangerous hand and why would you accept a race against a shortstack who pushes for half your chips from UTG. Surely he wouldn't do that with any two cards?

If you were very close to the button it might be fair enough but I hate people who shove with JJ after an all-in raise with people still to act behind them. How many chips did the BB and SB have? Could they fold a half decent hand here?

Dont think him shoving AK there is a awful spot or awful play at all... especially if playing to win. Probably the lowest hand in his range... I hope!

ty for the responses .

i posted this as i am genuinly bemused  by the ak   call

yet it seems the norm these days to pass big pairs in great situations  yet call off   with essentially, no hand.

food for thought indeed.
