Well, first off, it's a huge relief to hear Brendan is on the mend. Long may it last. He was in a deep hole in 2006, nearly died, but he fought back bravely, and we know he has the heart of a lion.
Big ups also to Bigfella (Glenn), Des D, Bainn, Harmony, & Ironside, all of whom have helped to find out how Brendan is.
And lets not forget all the blondes who have Posted on this thread. It's truly moving to see the degree of care & affection shown towards Brendan.
The day he walked into Cardiff Grosvenor at the APAT Event, well, hobbled more like, remains one of my most moving & memorable days in poker - many a grown man was near to tears, & a few were openly crying.
He is an inspiration to us all.

Hi everyone. I'm sitting with Brendan at the hospital as I write, and he would like to pass a short message on. Before he does, can I say that he is looking fantastic and is in great spirits. I'll do the typing (blackberry!), but over to Brendan.
Just to say guys I have been overwhelmed with the messages I've received and the visitors I've had since my little upset. I've been out of intensive care and looking forward to beating this infection and getting back to seeing you all on the site.
Superb.

Well everyone, I got let out at 9am this morning, and although i'm very tired, I've just read though all the thread..............and I'm overwhelmed, what a great family we have here.
I ts a very special place, long may it last.
Thxs everyone for your real concern, it was touch and go, basically I got a ruptured artery in my fore arm, where i had some work done thirty years ago.
It was fixed and i came out on Tues 22nd. On Thursday I woke up delirious thirsty baked and hallucinating. my daughter phoned the doc, lucky for me my own doc came out, and said i had an Infection (from a line they had put in my neck to give fluids while i was under for the op). He told my daughter he'd phone an amberlance to take me back in.
Two hours later I was back on the same ward being given anti biotics.............................then it all went wrong!!!
The doctors and nurses told Tom and Lucy(my children)that they could not control my blood pressure which kept dropping rapidly. So they decided, i needed to be transferred to intensive care................At 9 ish i was transferred, some jelly filled saline was iv'd into me and i was attached to a blood filter machine, for 18 hrs.
I came too, at 4pm Fri asking for a cup of tea.................then I was put on blood filter machine again, and along with the antbiotics started pulling through. By sat after,I was back on general ward.
The iv anti biotic continued, on Sun i slept all day.................through the next week i was told just to get better slowly, on Fri i went onto oral Ab's and on sat they said i could come home.................though gotta go back for a screening on Mon morning, and some time later I've got to have the staples out of my forearm.
So as Garry Glitter said "I'm back I'm back as a matter of fact as a matter of fact I'm back"
Thx again for all your concerns, at it was lovely to see Glenn, and Des D, visit me, and to receive calls from bainn and harmony...........And to Paul (inthebelly)for his touching pm i came home to, it was really from the heart thx Paul.Finnally for Madasahatstand, who pm'dme today.
Time to rest I guess.
