Very simply, it's 4 card, non-flop, three rounds of betting, three chances to swap some or all of your holding, game.

The nuts are A-2-3-4 of different suits.

Not a game to be played in Casinos for cash unless you know what you are doing, the pots get huge. Bluffing is more prevelant in Padooki than almost any game I know.

NONE of the Hand-Rankings we know from any type of poker apply.

Is padooki the same as Badugi on the old tribeca?

No, the hand rankings are different, but the object of the game is very similar

In Badugi, if tied the fourth card is disregarded, in Padooki, all four cards play so is a 7 flush.

Hand Rankings for UK Padooki

Two Diamonds three clubs is the nuts

Two Diamonds three clubs is an 8 padooki

Two Diamonds three diamonds is an 8 flush

two spades is still an 8 flush

Two Diamonds Two Clubs is a full house and a really crap hand

If this is allowed in a dealers choice game (most places do not regard this as *poker*) then it is a huge advantage to play on the button as it is a triple draw game.
