i definately think random draw from all members has been the fairest way of allocating seats
Whilst it may be 'fair' in as much as everyone has the same chance of being drawn and getting a seat. I can't agree that it is the best way... you have the possibility that someone never* gets a seat for any of the tournaments they want to play! *I suspect that 'never' would only need to one season for most people... I would certainly think twice about joining for another year if I had not been 'lucky' enough to secure a seat in any of the tournaments I wanted to play in.

I can't agree with this due to the fact that ... it does seem like the people who REALLY want to go..always end up with a seat if they try hard enough.
Some people have said, for example, that they can't try to click to register to enter at certain times because of football. To me that just means that they don't REALLY want to go. Obviously there are some occasions where people really can't avoid not being around for a registering process, but you would have to be very unlucky for this to happen more than once or twice in a season - and if you're that unlucky you're just going to get knocked out with an outdraw if you did play As such I don't think that a random draw does represent fairness at a practical level.

Flights booked (ryanair only £20 return from brum), hotel booked. Hopefully will win seat online or by the email thingy, however I will be in Ireland regardless of getting a seat or not. Cannot wait for this, will be a top weekend, see you all there.

I could also do with the cheap hotel list as babymonkeyboy probably wont give me much of a spending budget In the centre of Dublin (esp. near the Fitzwilliam) the hotels will be v.pricey. A better option is out by the airport (Holiday Inn Express for instance is only €257 for 3 nights). Taxis are around €25 into town but obv. sharing these cuts the cost. Booked!

yup, was cheaper as you got closer to airport - booked twin room at Days Inn near the airport for €89 for the saturday night, which works out at about £30 if i can find someone who doesnt mind fleas and discarded banana skins to share with

You could also try searching through the self cater apartments in Dublin...and if a few of you crash in one, it'll be dirt cheap. http://www.staydublin.com/?gclid=CNrL5KfQ7IsCFSLiEAodS18tPANot sure what the one in Dublin is like, but I got a special offer in the mail the other day for the Choice Hotel Group...here's the link to their special deal: http://www.staylongerforless.com/Good Luck!

Well, we have a caravan that we park by the beach in the summer for the kids, but we haven't moved it yet. Only problem...we live on the Cork/Kerry border and it's a long drive to Dublin with a caravan in tow. Maybe you could bring a tent and find some bit of green at the back of the Fitz?
