Its becoming quite apparent that the moderators on this forum are playing the role of policeman a little to extremely on some of the postings in this forum.

Whilst I appreciate that some threads have had to be terminated because of 'slanging matches' there are also some good threads about backing of players and the like which are being cut short by the moderaters interpretation of what should be allowed here and what shouldn't.

Surely its better to have in place a set of simple rules which state, to all members, what is, and is not allowed.

I, for one, would disallow the following...

- Disparaging remarks about people who post here (I have been subjected to this)
- Individual players looking for backing (no place on this forum)
- Swearing (goes without saying)

Good debates are being stifled by some members who choose to knock everything other posters say without thinking about suitable arguments in return.

The fact that I've had a book on poker published seems to upset some people...why?

There are many good people on here with many good posts that I'd like to contribute more to but am now wary of doing so because of :

a) Moderator intervention
b) Being slagged off for my opinion
c) Being hounded

I would like to ask that where contentious posts do occur that moderators PM the person who wrote it and then delete it sooner rather than later rather than lets it run until they feel as though its turned into a 'nice weather for the time of year' thread!

Closing threads 'in the sake of harmony & peace' is a terrible way to behave!

Just my opinion!

For crying out loud Mark, leave it out...I thought we had kissed and made up?

Anyway I'm not locking this and not commenting on it (it would be "War and Peace" if I did) but If I see this thread degenerating I'm deleting immediately and I don't give a damn what anyone thinks

This place is about fun and laughter and POKER.....

I despair

I think ending a reply to a fellow members post with the words "Shame on you"  is a disparaging remark

Just my opinion

I would prefer people were able to read Marks comments so they can form their own oppinions of him rather than listening to mine or anyone elses.

I will continue to respond to any of marks posts in a jovial/light hearted way and I will not get myself into trouble by joining silly slanging matches. If he continues the way he is everybody will soon realise that he wears more than one and less than three hats. Hopefully he will eventually have more than 3 caffeine based beverages  Grin

Perhaps then you'd be good enough to argue for, or against, my original post!

Thank You.

Hallelullah!!

Just for the record, no post of Mark's has ever been deleted or edited, except in the thread on "the poll" where the whole tread was deleted. That thread was not begun by Mark and any deletion of his posts in there should not be seen as any adverse comment on him specifically, the whole thread was deleted.

I think your post as usual had "undertones" to it. You have maybe 60 posts to your name Mark and a large percentage of them have either been self publicising (even managed to plug your book again in this thread) or "trouble making" threads. I went over 1000 posts before I lost it and went postal on someone (you surprisingly). I am quite happy for you to keep posting threads like this because I think more and more people will come round to my way of thinking. I was out of order last week, I have already appologised and promised to behave in future. Moderators will be needed on this forum as long as you are here IMO because you will always manage to stir up trouble- why cant you just play nice and behave yourself?

OK...final warning....any argument from now on from anyone, this is locked

I don't want to lock, but these sorts of arguments ruin this place, and I am apportioning NO blame

it is not how I see a moderators job to be a policeman and stamp down, but I will not allow the integrity of this place to be compromised.

I agree,I cannot believe they closed that post where a player come on begging for money (righty told where to go by a couple of posters) only because the player was a friend of the establishment.
