if anyone has a spare tens mins take the poker i.q test on the right hand side of the cardrunners.com page . i scored 99 , the top pros scores varied from about 125-150 . differant scenarios based on 13 sub catagories all multiple choice . good fun have a look

yeah..saw it a while ago and discussed this with doubleup in stanleys...there are some questions that we both have doubts on as to whether the answers they count as correct are actually correct.
Mainly the "A pro player loses a lot of money playing A10 from under the gun"..the correct answer according to the test is Yes..we both agreed it should be no as A10 from UTG simply is an awfull hand and shouldn't be played.

the top pros scores varied from about 125-150 . Some of the "selected" top pros scores varied from 125-150, i'm sure there were scores lower than that but their blushes were spared by their results not being released  |

 ok, monkey may be missing something here but question asks "a player loses money from playing A10 utg" and the answer is "yes" - therefore he loses money. You say it should be "no" - therefore he wins money, but then say its an awful hand and shouldnt be played......... |

Doubleup and I both argued that a pro-player doesn't play A10 off from UTG and therefore doesn't lose money playing it. |

without actually reading the quiz it just sounds as though the questions haven't been worded or written very well leading to ambiguity. Is it american by any chance?  |

yes indeed..and we argue that the answer should be no!..most pokerpro's wouldn't play A10 off suit UTG. |

i think this is the point boldie is trying to make and why i think it hasn't been worded well. boldie is saying that the "correct" answer according to the test is "true" when in effect most pro's would lay down A10 o/s utg and therefore the answer should be "false" as they are not losing any money because they choose not to play it. if the question read "in a full ring game playing AT off suit is typically a losing hand UTG for most poker pros. ture or false?" i think the answer would be more accurate. |
