ot/weird pc sound problem/ghost

I have music playing softly through my speakers, even though I have no PC radio and have no web browser open, have no mp3s on this machine, no CD in the tray. It's like a woman singing. It's freaking me out a bit now. Is it a ghost in the machine? Is it a virus?

i have had ringing in my ears for the last 2 days coz have had my earphones in non stop. Now i hear everything in dual mono if that makes sense like the same person is speaking to me through both ears at the same time, and dont class it as stereo smart arses!

if it's not a ghost it's probably just your speakers picking up radio interference.  the speakers in the spare room at my mum's house used to pick up the local cabbies' radios - scared the life out of me in the middle of the night once.
