On Sky 533. Achingly beautiful.
Seen it loads of times, still think it's one of the most stunning series ever made.

If i had a choice to be an animal it would be a bird. I was in Marrakesh earlier this year and saw the most awesome sight:) The market people selling grain and spices allow the birds to eat to their hearts content. Quite beautiful:)
In the picture you'll see the birds if you look close at the bottom left

Me too, my favourite clip is of the Lyre bird with its imitations of camera shutters and car alarms.

Yes, that is so spooky!
And the bird that tidies up it's little "garden" & puts nice flower petals around it - extraordinary.

It's interesting to know that birds lack the receptors in their mouths that detect the heat from capsaicin (the hot stuff in chillies) - so they can eat the hottest, spiciest food that would make grown men cry. But they usually can't - as they don't have thumbs and can't get the lids off the bottles or jars.

Also, they would have to fly backwards to keep their arse cool.

But if that was the case, only hummingbirds could eat chillies, as they're the only bird that can fly backwards.

About 3 robins have decided they wanted to live with my parrots in their outdoor aviary. They fit through the bars and are so friendly and really rather tame. They even perch on the trees in there with my babies. It looks so cute. When I go in to shower the parrots they all line up and flap about. I always thought robins didn’t get on with other birds?
