Very well done to Mrs Pace. She was on the first table I played at in the £75 F/o the night before BB4, and Mr Pace was at the final table.

Insofar as you can judge anybody's character by an hour or so around a poker table I was struck by what unaffected, genuinely nice people you both were.

Hope you do well in the final.

Russ, many of us have interesting views on this, but if you wanna take Bev & Jen on in the debate, good luck my son! Both of them scare the living daylights out of me. If I'd been married, I'd be hen-pecked for sure. They (women) scare me. Especially them there two. One'd talk me to death while the other gave me a good hiding. I know, I've been there.

Where's that fence of mine?

Thanks very much for the support for the final - lovely to play with Beverly (for many many hours of button vs. blind fun) and the whole thing was well run (thanks Mags Manton) and good spirited.  I have to say briefly that despite being against any kind of segregation tournament-wise in principle, principles don't pay you in for £1k and give you a shot at winning a Ladbrokes Million seat.  Too tempting by half (my bankroll is frankly rather sad), I don't regret playing, and wish Jackie the best of luck in a few weeks time - it's surely a good thing to guarantee at least one woman gets to play the Big One.  I personally tried to get filmed as often as possible saying that ladies should just play whatever tournament they feel like - experience is experience,  and good though the tourney was it is not a realistic environment in which to play.  Sooner or later, women who catch the tournament poker bug will just have to put up with playing with men, and the sooner they simply go for it the better.

I really, really hope they do some creative editing on the final table, to salvage any kind of table image I might once have had.

Look, I've stolen your novelty cheque. The cat and I intend to take ourselves to the Bahamas on it. Hurrah!

That is to say, we will be cashing it and spending it on a trip to the Bahamas. Not floating there on the novelty cheque.
