Apparently he was frustrated at the lack of big name players brought in and feels as though he's taken Wigan as far as he can.

Who is going to end up where in the managerial roundabout?

Chris Coleman to Leicester please

Jewell's frustration is not with the club...they would pay the wages......but they players wouldn't come

but I sense that Jewell may be best in a mid size club environment, not having to deal with the egos and politics that a big club brings

I nthat sense I think Allardyce may struggle to impose his will at Newcastle too

I think even the biggest Keeganite-Geordie would sacrifice good football for a couple of trophies.

I think actually winning games can mask a number of things.

There fans will accept anything if they are competing and winning games again, Sam will atleast do one thing and make them competitive and hard to beat. Back to basics.

goerdies are a bit like celtic fans though as soon as they start winning they will moan that the football hasnt enough flair
if sam goes through the whole of next season playing the old boring boring arsenal type of football winning every single game 1-nil winning the domestic treble the following season there will still be fans on his back saying he is playing a boring type of football

passionate fans want to see there teams out perform other teams as well as win matches and tropheys

I disagree no one remembers how well teams play or the style they play if they lose. I don't give a chuff how we play as long as we win.

Newcastle fans would have settled for locking up shop and playing boring when they threw the title away under Keegan.

I have seen Leeds play long ball and win lots of things, I have seen them play nice attacking football and be much less successful.

I remember and enjoyed winning the trophy's more then anything.

yeah when that was announced the price on big sam went from 1.18 to 1.03 in the blink of an eye

meanwhile jewell is being traded at 4.5 just small money but seems over priced apart from the fact he told dave whelan he would not be joining another team this summer
