West Ham, kicked out of one of the cups a few years ago for fielding an ineligible (cup-tied) player.

Didn't get fined that time.

West Ham should have had points deducted, but... at least it means Neil Warnock is no longer a Premiership manager

I quite liked Warnock being in the Premiership, he comes out with some great stuff.  I'm a bit disapointed the Blades got relegated, but I'd rather have had West Ham stay up.   Ideally, for me, Wigan would have gone down.

I think there is no doubt that if it was mid season when a decision had to be made they would have got a points deduction...a fine seemd to me an awful fudge.

whilst I do not think the decision will be overturned I have sympathy with Sheff Utd

Perhaps if enough people vote 'Yes' on here the Premier League will review and change their decision!!

Maybe someone would also like to petition No 10? Here is a link to ePetitions - http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/

Fifa will investigate Tevez saga

Fifa is to investigate whether West Ham should have been docked points for breaching rules over the signings of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.

An independent commission fined West Ham £5.5m, but several clubs felt they were let off lightly.

Fifa president Sepp Blatter said: "We will look at this. We will ask for the file once it has been decided how and why the decision was made.

"If we feel something was wrong then we have to open our file."

Blatter said any decision "would have to be taken immediately".

He added that according to Fifa's files the transfer of Tevez and Mascherano from Brazilian side Corinthians to West Ham had complied with international transfer regulations

Regardless of whether or not the initial punishment was fair and correct, if FIFA step in and change things, it will make a total mockery of the FA.

That would be unusual in the sense that the FA don't normally need any outside help in this respect.

In this season's FA Cup, Bury were kicked out for fielding an ineligible player.

Either everything was above board (in which case no punishment), or they broke the rules in signing him (in which case they should have lost every point from every game Tevez played in).

In the case of the Bury thing, they made a genuine mistake with the papers i believe BUT West Ham lied and tried to deceive.

So Bury got slaughtered and forfeited a game and therefor out of the FA CUP.

I don't kno  a great deal about it,but I thought it was a premiership rule bout 3rd party ownership of a player (whatever that means) thats why according to FIFA the transfer was above board, if so, is it not up 2 the premiership to invoke a suitable punishment
& how come Mascherano has now signed for Liverpool.
