Pissed myself at the weekend reading his team of the year for the SPHell, just shows the establishments views never change.
McGregor
Hutton McManus Anderson Naylor
Nakamura Hemdani Naismith Adam
Boyd JVoH
McGregor over Boruc? Wit? Hemdani ahead of Brown/Lennon? Hutton does only turning up for half the season count? Charlie Adam PMSL!!!! Can't really argue with big Boyd as much as he's ugly and a dumpling he does what all good strikers do - scores goals.
For what its worth, my team of the year would have been.
Boruc
Wittaker McManus Anderson Naylor
Nakamura Brown Lennon
Naismith Boyd Fletcher

Rob MacLean is no friend of Rangers but I admit I do find his side a bit baffling.
McGregor and Adam shouldn't be there. Hemdani most certainly should and Hutton is probably debatable, on recent form yeah but in 1st half of season he was poor. The fact Boyd is there sums up the dearth of quality strikers in the spl.

I find it very hard 2 make a team of the year, yes Hutton has only played well in the latter stage of the season, but when the "player of the year"- Nakamura, was getting slated in the 1st half of the season & all I remember him doing is scoring a hat-trick V's Dundee UTD (when he was playing pure Shyte) & a couple of free-kicks v Man Utd, doesnt leave much scope for any1 else

russel anderson should of been player of the year
if anyone in the old firm had put in so many good performances over so many games they would of gotten POTY and also be a regular in the national team he is the only reason aberdeen have finished 4th this year (i know techincally we are a poiunt ahead of hearts with a game to go but i think we will have to settle for 4th)

To be fair Nakamura wasn't slated he was questioned about his performances away from Celtic Park.
For me player of the year was Artur Boruc or Stephen McManus. They both got my nominations for Celtic player of the year. I based my decision on consistency over the course of the season. Nakamura had moments of individual brilliance and was a great team player but on some occasions away from home he was posted missing in a few games. I think this is a common trait of many foreigners playing on our shores.

Who was more consistent than Brahim Hemdani? He played with ease and didn't do much wrong all season

Hemdani was very consistent and excellent all season, worthy of Team of the season.
Boruc player of the year Bandit? Behave yourself! He had a few howlers! I think he saved his best for the CL

As for Boruc being a better keeper than Greegs ( Taxi for Bandit )
Celtic have never at anytime had a better keeper than Rangers in the 25 years I have been watching football. In fact we've had too many and some have moved on.
Peter McCloy Chris Woods Andy Goram Antti Niemi Lionel Charbonier Ronald Watteraus Stefan Klos Alan McGegor
Class acts wouldn't yous agree

Damon, is it the intention of the Rangers fans to attempt to delete the first 6 months of the season from the history books? I would grant you that since Hemdani moved into playing his midfield position that he has been virtually peerless in that position. Prior to that he was playng in a very dodgy defence (not his fault I grant you , but he was playing there). As for Mcgregor, up until december he wasnt even considered the best keeper at rangers, never mind in scotland !

He started off in midfield before moving back when both Ferguson and Clement were fit. Even playing OOP some of his performances were top drawer, although he did struggle when up against strikers with a physical approach. Since day 1 Hemdani was excellent imo.

hemdani was a good consistent performer, but not what you look for in player of the year, same goes for steven mcmanus. the fact that the splzzzzzzzzzzzz, hasnt got 1 decent attacking playmaker is why nakamura got it, he's the closest the league has 2 it. as for boruc,he played well in europe, but the team of the year is based on spl performances.

I like Hemdani but he would be better in a decent team.
As forMcgregor being better than Boruc, thats just laughable, Boruc has done it against the Milans & Man Utds, the best team Mcgregor has played against is Celtic!
BTW Damon you guys have generally had decent keepers but Stewart Kennedy & The Girvan Lighthouse were murder!!!
Oh aye & Ally Maxwell
