first hand i limp with 89o i dont mind the unsuitedness as i aint going to get involved with a baby flush
i flop 2 pair and from the board and the betting i put people on draws and maybe TPWK
i let them know i am winning at this stage is slow playing a big hand then so be it
obviously i get 2 all in callers and they make there straight on river
fine i still have chips

see below for hand two spades thinking

i am now in bb and i get 2 limpers and the SB completes
there is only 400 in the pot and my TT looks like its flop a set or ditch
but i have anotehr option its very likely my hand is ahead just now
the table isnt the sort for slow playing big pairs
now if i put in a raise that doesnt commit me to the pot they will all call
so i decided to just steal the pot with an all in raise after all what can they call me with KQ?

1) obv you played this well. And got stupidly outdrawn by the AJ. The 6 7 probably wasnt too bad. I guess youll get ridic calls from people like that in $1 tourns sometimes though.

2) Suprised you pushed with 10s for 3.8k with blinds at 50/100 and only 300 in the pot. I dont hate your play but i prefer a raise to 4 or 500, then a re-evaluation on your flop action if you receive a caller. And in this instance, when hes seen his 3 cards with the KQ, you can get away. Still a bad call by him, but to be fair again, its a $1 tourn. Youre gona get a lot of Donks.

Unluckyyyy.

problem was is i raised to 1k i would of still gotten 3 callers and there isnt many flops your going to like against 3 callers with TT

i also knew i was ahead at the time and those 400 chips were better off in my stack than anyone elses

i really need to go back to basics with my NLHE though i am still playing other games well but for somereason the game i learnt first has gone to pieces
i am even making money in the PLHE cash games while losing in the NLHE cash games

to win at such tiny level tourneys you have to adapt your stratergy big time to deal with the retardedness. to be honest. i think it's damaging to your game overall doing this and may well hold you back in the long run.

Iron - just dont ever limp with 89o..... even after multiple limpers, there just arent enough ways to get lucky.

"first hand i limp with 89o i don't mind the unsuitedness as i aint going to get involved with a baby flush"

What are you hoping to achieve with 89 off suit?   Saying that, you got damn unlucky with eddy530747 hitting his straight - I'm not sure why he was calling.

I read somewhere about playing Jacks recently, it may have been on here, anyway the point was that Jacks is only a pair of tens plus one.  I'd be very reluctant to push all my chips in with tens preflop at this stage, you are sitting fairly comfortable and don't have to risk it all on a medium pair.   I think a raise would have looked better, to many people seem to push with small pairs these days.

Exactly...you told everybody at that table you probably had a small/medium pair or didn't want limpers on your BB..that's why the call with KQ happens. Ofcourse you also have to take into account that at the 1$ level KQ is regarded as a monster by some players...which is exactly why you shouldn't push with TT. If you play at the 1$ level you have to take into account the sort of players you are playing and generally you have to play a tighter game. Limp with the tens and hope to hit a set and that they hit top pair..that will give you all their chips not racing for all your chips with a medium pair
