it is meant to be a done deal

money to burn is true, but they want him and Bayern know that so can inflate the price

if Manure pick up a top quality stricker for next season  they will be very tough to beat no matter what the other top 3 clubs do   very strong in all departments

i also heard today that foster will start the season in front of van der sar

They need to sort out their defence.  Attack was certainly the best form of defence for them this season, without their ability to get goals, they wouldn't have won a sausage.

Also fortunate that they had as good a keeper as they did.

Certainly going to be interesting next season.

Neville/Ferdinand/Vidic/Heinze with brown/O'Shea/Evra behind

defence isn't an issue...injuries in the defence were the issue

find a replacement for Saha and I think they will improve again in the summer

my point again, big injuries at key times to vidic and ferdinand cost them

I expect they'll do something with squad depth there

They need to improve their overall squad to challenge for everything again next year - the likes of fletcher, richardson, o'shea etc are not good enough to be regular first team players. This seasons league campaign was helped by the fact that most of their squad remained injury free for the best part of the season until towards the end when their defence became a little thin.

If the likes of Rooney, Giggs, Scholes and Ronaldo get injured next season and they have to rely on their "squad" players to fill in then they will finish alongside the also-rans of liverpool and arsenal.

liverpool and chelsea have shown that defence starts from the front through the midfield  hargreaves will help in this dept

Drogba has been the best defensive forward in the league this year  he has done an amazing job chasing back and from corners

but is this not the role they have carrick playing?

If they bring hargreaves into the united midfield, who do they drop - giggs, ronaldo, carrick or scholes?
