I just don't get the point of these blog things, I have read a few blogs on there and wonder are people really that interested in what someone has had for breakfast, or the latest ins and outs of your last break up, how long its taken to get from one part of the country to the other and how much your coffee costs at the service station?

In my day we wrote in a diary, these were often kept somewhere safe and private for no one else to see, all our emotional stuff, all the people who had pissed us off was not branded across the web for all and sundry to read.

I say to these blog writers get a life, get out there and have a bit of fun, don't fret that you haven't done your latest update, and if you do continue with these make sure that what you are writing doesn't end up in a court of law!!

Many folks write blogs, many more read them.

It's a modern thing, but it does nobody any harm, & Fran is a sweet girl, I don't think it's right to suggest she & others like her "get a life".

It's true, in our day we did it different, but the kids do lots of things different these days, & as long as it does no harm, why not?

Blog on, Fran!

This might have been great advice except for the fact that it's branded across the web for all and sundry to read.

but it does nobody any harm

Are you sure? I feel that some things that I have read on this blogs could upset people, I have witnessed custody and financial fights over children, slanderous comments about others, if you have a failed relationship then that person might not be right for you but why trash someone across the net....So I don't feel these blogs are always harmless fun

This is true.  I've read things on blogs that I'm sure have ended up in court.

Surely that's the fault of the person, not the medium they are using to convey the message?
