You can optimise JPEG files for screen use without changing the dimensions of the file. Not sure if you can do that online though. |

You need to use a graphics package - something like photoshop. If you want to buy something to do it, Photoshop Elements is cheaper, and will do all the stuff you need (probably). There are other packages out there to that are good - but I use Photoshop. |

You can get a 2MB JPEG (unoptimised) down to about 200Kb which might be fine for screen use. Email a 2MB image and I'll optimise it and send it back so you can see the results. |

It has to be no more than 75kb to post on blonde.
I just dont get why some pics appear big on blonde and some appear small.
It seems the bigger the file is to start with, the smaller you have to make it to post it here.

THis pic was over 2MB, it was 2592 x 1944 pixels.
By changing the compression came down to 340KB.
At 640 x 480 pixels it is now 35KB.
