It's not often I lose my temper, but today I really struggled to maintain my cool.

For a split second a little bit of steam burst out of my ears and I was forced to punch a pillow.

The reason?

I'd just started my session of cash poker on Party Poker. This is a site I have been playing on a daily basis for the past month or two.

I was playing 4 tables of $1/2 Texas.

After about 5 minutes, I kept getting a pop up that asked me to copy the code in the window.

One time this happened whilst I was in the middle of a hand. I had just called a preflop bet with AK suited.

Then up comes this pop up giving me my orders and 40 seconds (I think) to complete the procedure. Knowing that I was in the middle of a big hand, I briskly typed in the code and clicked OK.

When I returned to my hand, I was delighted to see a AKrag on the flop and the other player betting into me. Awesome I thought, time for a double up! However, to my dismay, there were no options to click even though it was my go. After about 10 seconds, I clicked randomly in a blind panic and typed some jibberish into the chat-box in hope that something would happen, but nothing. Instead, after 20 so seconds my hand was folded as if I'd simply been timed out. The pot and my hard earned cash sailed over to my opponent.

I couldn't believe this so I asked on another table to see if anyone could help. Response, as usual, was lack-lustre, but 1 guy did reply. He claimed that the same thing happened to him the other day and it was Party Poker's way of checking for bots. He then tactly said, It ***** up your hands!'.

Gr8 I thought. They check for bots, find out that you are innocent, and then mess up your hands costing you money. Well, how fair does that sound?

I am gobsmacked by this. I chose to play at Party Poker as I rarely seem to suffer from diconnections there. However, I may need to reconsider if this problem keeps occurring. How big is the next hand going to be when this happens?

I consider this to be totally unacceptable and I intend to contact Party Poker about this matter.

Has anyone else encountered such a problem and was it solved?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Ta. snoops Cool

I don't mind losing money to the run of the cards, but when it's because they are checking for bots, it really gets my goat.

And I even had it paraded in front of my eyes and I looked on helplessly.

ARGH!  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Has any1 else experienced this by the way?

Hand History.

Maybe you got the code wrong and were thought to be a bot?

No. I'm sure I typed in the correct 1. I made sure because I was in a big hand.

This is the reply I received. Doesn't really solve anything. My hand was still messed up by these tests and I still lost money as a result.

Does any1 else find this unacceptable?

A great way of answering the question generically without actually helping!
