Never mind Kev. Remember, not everyone would be disappointed to find a fag in their underpants.

Berk=(ahem) berkshire hunt
Cow's(calf)= hallf (half a quid)
Saucepan(lid)=quid
Treacle (tart)=sweetheart
Tom(foolery)=jewellery

There are a few unknowns as well, certainly to me, such as:

Kettle=watch (possibly kettle & hob=fob[just a guess])
Brass=tart
Groin=ring

The meanings varied fom town to town, to me, "saucepans" were kids, "saucepan lids".

Mate = china (plate). Usually "me old china".

Bird = Richard (The Third)

Arse = Bottle (& glass)

Feet = plates (of meat)

'Phone = Dog (& bone)

Road = Frog (& Toad)

Stairs =Apples (& pairs)

Towel = Baden (Powell)

Wash = Lemon (Squash)

Bed = Uncle (Ned)

Ten = Cock (& hen)

**** = Jodrell (Bank)

Tea = Rosy (Lee)

Suit = Whistle (& flute)

Shirt = Dicky (Dirt)

Dogs = Cherry (Hogs)

Butchers, & bookies, used also to do backwards speak - "neves" for 7, "rofe" for 4, interspersed with normal rhyming slang, & you needed your wits about you.
