I am already half tempted to take the 5/2 that he'll win by more than 2 lenghts but Frankie riding him puts me off.
It's quite clear that he's the best horse in the race but I don't like Frankie in the derby in the same way I don't like Mccoy for the national...so I need something to beat him...anyone have any ideas?

I don't think anyone can beat the horse.  But they could beat Frankie.

How many times has he had the best horse and failed to deliver?

Also Chapple-Hyam is one of the most crooked trainers in racing wouldn't be suprised if the horse was nobbled!!

O'briends horses seem to be in devastating form today...I might go for one of his after all..the other 7 can just keep authorised boxed in Smiley

I can't see him getting beat and they are good points about certain jockeys in certain races but this the Real Deal. Shergar comes to mind when u see this horse run.

Taking on the favourite with Archipenko.  If only to keep the race mildy interesting.

I see Authorized is slightly on the drift, as is the previous second favourite Aqaleem (out to 15.5 on BF, from 9).

I might go for a forecast..authorised to beat soldier of fortune and Regime. I was going to have an EW bet on those two but the forecast will be the play of the day for me as authorised does look as close to a good thing as motivator was and if you get the FC right you should get a good return on your dosh (4-5 with a 20-1 shot should pay around 20£ for a 1£ stake and that's a lot better than the 4-1 you'd get for his place)

Did you take it?

I think he could have won by 2 lengths with me on the back!

I'm not much of a horse racing fan but I took my dad down to York to see The Dante, and even a bookie's pal like me could see he was impressive.

The horse is awesome. Remember though that IF they go for the Eclipse...The derby winner has NOT won the Eclipse in ages! Even Motivator got beat. I hope they will not go for it as I'll have to lay it if it does..and I hate to lay superb horses.
