Is the live event for you tv celeb types only?  I didn't get an email Sad

Just to make you feel better Graham I didn't get one either !   Sad

Maybe location was a factor, where's this one being held?

Just got an email about the 1st live event - looks pretty good.  Shame I won't be able to make it as I'll be playing another event that day.  Will deffo play in the future if there are any more.

Just one thing - even if I was free on that date 2 weeks notice is a bit short when travel/accommodation arrangements need to be made - any chance of getting a bit more notice for the next one?

Sorry about the short notice claire.

For "technical reasons" this event has been put together quite quickly. There will be others, don't worry, & I'm sure, as a very regular Sky Poker player, you'll be invited.

No, your location is not a factor, & not all of the invites have gone out yet, they are going out in batches. I am not clear on the selection criteria for an invite, but I imagine priority is being given to those that play on Sky Poker regularly, as a "thank you" gesture, & so the Tourney will be a £2,500 added Freeroll. Numbers will be limited to 100.

This one, hoped to be the first of a series, will be at The Broadway, Birmingham, on June 23. Sky Poker will have a Camera Crew there, & Poker Week will also be covering it.

I had a Meeting with The Broadway last week, & we have  further meeting with them this Monday to tie up the bits & pieces - buffet, Interview Areas, da de da de da.

Norman Pace & Ed Giddens will both be playing the Event, also playing SNG's etc. I'm not sure yet if I will have time to play the Event, but I shall be there, making the tea, & geneally fiffing & faffing.

On the basis they are Staff, I doubt it, on the basis they play a lot on the Site, yes. As I noted, only 100 spots this time, but there will likely be many more, all over the UK, if this one goes well. And it will.

For anyone wanting to stay at the Marriott where a lot of us stayed for BB1 I found this offer:
http://www.marriott.co.uk/Channels/marriott.mi?page=UK_StayforBreakfastInternational&vedate=may07&vetype=ruk&veseg=mr&veof=sfb-o
This only works if you use your Visa card and is money off a future stay.

If anyone is playing at The Broadway for this or any other Tourney, it's true The Marrioptt is just a few hundred yards away.

But good old Travelodge have a Hotel juist 30 yards from The Broadway, in the same complex, (same free Car Park if you are cute), & for advance bookings, you can get in for about £30 a night.
