First half were very shaky, and did get a grip of the game in the second half. However, always open to the counter-attack and defensively suspect. Fortunately, Villa were very poor and tired and Liverpool's passing was too much for them. Even so, Villa had chances to nick the draw.
I'm still not a fan of Suarez up top on his own. He's far too isolated and then it relies on his genius to do something, when he has a partner alongside him it gives a lot more opportunities.

Just for pleno: (that tackle on him at the end is horrendous and should have been a straight red)

100% agree, its the one of the main reasons we struggled in first part of season, and why such a fuss was made in August when we messed up the window. Any particular reason why Sturridge was on bench?

Think it was a reflection of his form (but not sure). However, having him on the pitch gets more out of others - and not sure if Rodgers likes the way the team lines-up when we play with two up top. Against Villa though, the team should be capable of doing that.

Interesting article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21805915Think the answer is that we'll have to wait and see. It's a long-term project, and the gap that needs to be closed is pretty wide.

Sturridge is too good just to sit on our bench, especially when you look at all the dross we have in midfield, he better start today as I refuse to transfer him out of my FPL team!
