This coming Monday (11th June) is No2 son Sam's Birthday and as is becoming an annual jaunt, he wants to go to Romford dogs again.

So same as last year, any one who fancies meeting up for an evening of punting please feel free to join us.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Just back from Romford, have to say we had a fantastic afternoon/evening... Sam spent plenty of his birthday money ... including 50 notes for a pair of jeans and 30 quid on a T-Shirt !!!!

So we get to the dog track and we have a tenner each me..first 10 races 3-6 50p reverse forecasts __ Sam 1-5 50p reverse forecasts. Rookie ,Skrikera and old man ITB turn up and we are all having a laugh and a giggle..cracking company.

Anyway, after the first race i spot a $5 note lying on the floor right next to us ... no one around so I pick it up and tell Sam that we will put it on a dog in the next race ... Trap 3 obliges at 3/1 ..happy days. to cut a long story short, after drinks and entry fees are taken out, we get 2 forecasts up to get the 20 quid back AND we turn the £5 note into a clear profit of £130 by the last race.

Rookie, Skrikera and ITB all finished in front as well so it was a quality night out.

Please also note that those buggers INCLUDING Sam were scoffing hot dogs and chips all night... but despite plenty of teasing and provocation, I didnt weaken and kept the discipline going Smiley

Thanks guys for coming, Sam had a fantastic time and was buzzing all the way home.

as kev said you all missed a great night.

young sams a credit to his old man though must get his good looks from his mother or they had a hansom milkman 15 years and 9 months ago lol

was a quality night as kev said we all finished up. i shouldve won more than i did but lumped on the last few races to do most of my profit.

i was £50 up over all, skikera won a few pounds thanks to the last race winner and the luckbox rookie after failing to cash in the first 6 races and being £150 down ended the night over £200 up after also backing the last winner.

come to think of it i was the only mug not on the last winner deciding to stick my £40 on a donkey.

anyway's looked like sam had a great and his half of the winnings covered his afternoon spending spree so all worked out well.

thanks sam and kev for the invite i loved it!

Ditto, good night for sure.

For the record, i did not eat kev, out of respect. LOL. And Ling says she distinctly remembers you having 1, yes 1, WHOLE chip. Salt and all.

Nice for all to come out with a profit, the last race was the best though. Everyone thinking trap 4, jumping from 5/2 to 6/4 was tooled up, only for me skrikera and kev to shove our money on the trap 5 at 7/2 and count the winnings Cheesy
