I know the term 'BoB' is branded around a lot atm but this one really is fitting.

That request has already been made.

I'ne not discussed it wtih the Mods yet, but I know they willl all agree.

We would seek Rookie's permission, & if he agrees, it'll go in.

But let's leave it for a while, to allow further Posts, & then we'll ask Rooks how he feels about that.

just over a week since rodneys untimely death.

its been a tough week, hes been in all our minds most of it and seeing ben hurting is the hardest for me.
luckily he has cassie, she is fantastic and is settling down very well away from the racing kennels, ben brings her to the club most days when hes working and she is getting well known to the regulars. she has such a timid laid back nature much more suited to home life than racing. rodney was the opposite he loved to run, he was like a coiled spring most of the time and aware of everything around him.
we are both obviously out of love with dog racing at the moment which is understandable but it had been a huge part of our lives for the last couple of years. i hope ben regains the love for the wonderful sport and one day can smile and enjoy a night at the dogs if not as an owner but as a spectator.

cassie would make a wonderful mother and the original plan was for her to mate with rodney if he had a successful racing career. that wont be possible now but as she is well bred i hope that ben might consider mating her sometime in the future with a successful sire.

this whole thread seems so surreal and the thought of never seeing rodney again is gut wrenching, everyday i wake up hoping it was a bad dream and that i can check the upcoming races section of the greyhound sites in anticipation of seeing when and where "rookies fantasy" will be running next.

rip rodney the buzz you brought into our lives will never be beaten x

I never had any interest in the dogs until I saw this thread.  Since then I've read every post, followed Rodders' and Cassie's ups and downs and really hoped you had a top class dog on your hands.   RIP Rodders.

We wrote to Ben today & sought his permission to move this Thread to Best of Blonde. He readily agreed, & was very grateful.

He'll be Posting a few pictures soon of Cassie enjoying her retirement at home.

The Thread will remain open, of course.

I'd just like to thank Ben for what has truly been one of the best threads ever on blonde. It had everything, & we were there from the very start, we shared the anticipation, the disappointments, the victories, & the gut-wrenching climax. You could not make these things up.

From all of us, thanks for so many great mermories.

Priceless.
