Good Luck James, & do keep in touch via blonde please.

To those that say "the UK is going downhill fast", well, that depends how you look at it. It's easy to think the grass is greener elsewhere.

That's not necessarily so.

I am biased, & no doubt wrong, but if there is a more beautiful part of the world than England, Derbyshire in particular, then I've yet to see it, & I have travelled the World extensively. You don't have to watch TV, or read Newspapers, & you can walk in the Derbyshire woods or Yorkshire Dales & think you have died, & woken up in Heaven. Scotland, Wales too are achingly beautiful. It's a glass half-empty thing to think other places are "better". We in the UK are truly blessed. Meadows, forests, winding rivers, farmland, wildlife, temperate climate - the climate's uncertainty is a plus as fas as I'm concerned.

I agree tikay that the climate of the UK is fantastic, I hate hot climates.  However, even since I have left School I have seen a  massive increase in Neds/Scumbags walking the streets.  Here is an example, the other day I was walking down the street and in my view was an old guy about 75 years old.  He was walking his dog and from previous conversations, I knew he was a nice old guy.  I stood and watched as a car sped past and threw a water balloon at him from the car. It hit him and as a result, he was left shaken by the incident.   I can't imagine that that would happen even 10 year ago.  Kids today have no fear of punishment, they know that all of modern Briatain's do-gooders will prevent them getting the kind of punishment they deserve.  I know who the old guy is and I also know his Family.  His Family are not to be messed with,  I notified his Grandson of what happened and I am sure the balloon throwers will be spoken to in due course.

My Uncle is a nice guy, he is sort of an unofficial town mayor. For the last 20 years he has helped around the village organising various things for the village community, as a result he was given an MBE a few years ago and is liked by everyone.  In the past, Kids used to respect him, now the local Kids only give him a hard time.  A few weeks ago I stood chatting to him and we were looking at his new car.  A bunch of local Kids walked past and shouted  " F...ing Snob.....Wanker......f..king old snob..... " at him.  He is 65 years old, the Kids were about 13 years old.  The village he lives is actually a nice place. This would not happen in the past.  I hate the way Britain is going.  Britain used to be a great country and now we are descending fast.  "Britain is going downhill fast".

Well most folks definition of "seaside" is Blackpool or Southend, both of which are tack City big time, really dreadful.

But if you want Seaside, the UK has thousands of miles of it, 99% of which is deserted, with sparkling clear water. And a variable climate is fine by me - no rain, no rainbow.

But life is tickety-boo abroad?

I can't believe folks fail to see the beauty in front of their very eyes.

I really think that if anyone gets the chance they should live abroad for a while.

Makes you appreciate things in your own country a LOT more.

Cyprus was my first ever holiday abroad destination. Mr Nun had travelled far and wide but i was lacking in experience then. I loved it there and have been back to show the kids it's beauty, well when they were kids. I am not really a beach lover but have since been all over including Carribean and like Jame says Cyprus does have some far nicer beaches than there. I also understand what Tikay says too, we do have some wonderful counrtyside in the UK, and when i wake up in the morning fancying a walk,  there is nothing that spurs me on more than the taste of fresh crisp air, which I wouldn't get in a hot country.

Climate in the UK fantastic?  Hmmm are u sure about that?
I would not go that far as call it fantastic.  One thing that I miss from my country is clearly defined seasons and proper forests.  When spring arrives it is like the whole world just awoken from the silence, the beautiful colorful autumn, the white winters, ....   hot summers; 4 season climate is the one that is perfect.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do ya big mug ..... you are one of lifes survivors, you will make a living anywhere you  decide to put down roots.

There comes a time in everyones lives when they sit back and think about the future for their family and you have to do what you think is right.

All the best.
