I fairly sure tabloid journalists are second to last on this poll - it was a statistic always thrown at me whilst at journalism college - however, according to a poll on which jobs attracted the opposite sex, journalism was right up there with Doctor, Lawyer etc.

I think it's probably due to expectations. We'd like to think that politicians should be trustworthy, and are more annoyed when they're not. Whereas we know that tabloid journalists are the dregs of society.

It's because people love reading the salacious sex stories of large breasted girls, duly delivered by tabloid journalists, whilst they are green with envy at the married politicians who are also involved in these stories.

No, not directly, although he still wrote his column while I was there. I had an argument with him over the phone once, which is probably part of the reason why I no longer work there
