For those that missed it (me), which post is it and has it been deleted?

Found it hiding in internet poker. That's 3+ hours of reading the forum  >:?

Surprised he didn't try and do a deal with the ban - and chop it 7 ways - a day each.

can i get a ploughmans please charmaine

MMM!! Ploughmans

A ploughman's lunch is a cold snack or meal, comprising at a minimum a thick piece of cheese (usually Cheddar, Stilton, or other local cheese), pickle (often Branston Pickle, sometimes piccalilli and/or pickled onions), crusty bap or chunk of bread, and butter.

It is often accompanied by a green salad; other common additions are half an apple, celery, pâté, sliced hard boiled egg or beetroot.

[/quote]

The words 'Ploughmans lunch'  were featured on Boulderdash presented by Victoria Coren.  It traced the origin of where the words originated from.   Very good episode.

You didn't miss much tbh, a few people were taking the piss out of someone (nowt wrong with that if the person has got a clue and knows it's happening).

Now the ironic thing is the same people complain of whats resulted,  yet continue to make posts deliberately to drag this unnecessary drama on longer then needed Smiley

Don't just tell us half a story, where did it originate? My guess is Somerset and the early 1900's..

( Stolen from the bbc site )

Ploughman's Lunch The OED had no evidence for this before 1970. With help from Wordhunters, this has now been pushed back to 1960, when documents uncovered at the National Archive from the Milk Marketing Board reveal that the Ploughman's Lunch was invented as a marketing ploy to sell British cheese in pubs.

Here is the site with a few more common words/phrases and their origins

I am the official spokesman for the Brighton One in his absence. He wanted me to let you know he is well and coping despite his painful exile. His training team, including myself, are finalising his training for the WSOP 2007 main event, confident that his unique aggressive style will see him at yet another final table. Here's the footage of our last training session:

Can you tell him I think it's ridiculous that people are using his photo as their avatar.

Just read the thread in question and I do hope there have been many posts removed from it becuase if flushy has been banned for what he said there its a liberty. I have said far worse a million times and so have many on here. The quote from the guy about beating people up and the narcotics etc  does make him seem to be a bit of a (whatever james said). Now things have calmed down I suggest the mods go back and read the thread again while tension isn't running so high and you may realise that james wasnt being overly offensive (he says far worse on many occasions as do most of us). If there have been many posts removed then I appologise for this post but a very strange thread that isnt in the same league as the P4C thread where threats of physical violence were being banded about hourly. the kid may have problems but to discriminate against the majority on here in favour of the minority is still discrimination- we all take the piss on here and we should be wary of alianating the longest serving members.

ps please dont send me into the BB house- I would end up killing nemesis or someone inside 5 mins (If you do send me in you best send me a lady blondite to keep me amused, I'm not like james who is from brighton and is used to the company of men 24/7)

technically you have to get banned now because flushy didn't say he was a ****, he said he "comes across like a ****"

you said "does make him SEEM to be a bit of a(what James said)

same thing

consistency being the last refuge of the unimaginative, you may have dodged a bullet Roll Eyes

He wasn't banned for the post.

He was sending pictures of himself aroused to the male members of the forum. A week's ban was pretty generous i thought.
