Must congratulate Sky Poker for a great day of live poker at the Broadway Casino yesterday! Raj and the Broadway Casino team were excellent as usual, dealing with everything in a calm professional manner.  With Tikay at the helm supported by Norm, Ed and Compo with bounties on there heads, what more could a true poker player wish for! For many this was a daunting first time live event, but they rose to the occasion and contributed to a truly memorable day! It was great to meet up with APAT/Blondites Bainn & MickeyP, who as you can all imagine soon got onto the amber nectar! My special memories of the day are taking out Bainn, who was extremely short stacked-well done tho m8! Respect to Marco who gave me a tremendous heads up battle in this his first live event-WELL DONE! Also my wife Angela who, whenever i looked at her on the rail smiled and whispered 'YOU CAN DO IT!'.
We all love this game, but never ever forget the true value of the loved ones who believe in you, i certainly won't-thanks darling.
Well i suppose you guessed it, yes i won! An APAT/Blondite wins the 1st Sky Poker live tournament!

I would like to offer special thanks to everyone who offered there sincere congratulations and i hope to meet you all on the final table at the next Sky Poker live event!
So come on Sky-whens the next one!

Well done Kevin, great result and well deserved for your consistency in APAT events throughout the season.  I'm sure it will not be too long before there is another Sky Poker event scheduled.

Cheers,

Des.

Well played, was watching from the rail and think the winning hand was K-6 o/s beating pockets twos.

Well, what a cracking day, the Sky chaps and Broadway did a grand job, Harmony and I really enjoyed it.

Was good to meet up with people we knew and people we had online met across the virtual felt, and a "Special" thank you to Eck, MickyP, Harmony, Silo and Foggy for your generous contribution in our last longer bet, hoping to catch up with Foggy soon.

I was proud to be wearing my team "Blonde Bandit" cap when I got so deep, we may get unlucky in HU, but we do well when it counts.....

Grats to Harmony and MickyP who were SNG champs of the evening and I think Ed got lucky in an Omaha SNG.

Nice work by Zukertort for taking down the main event, and as Eck reasoned, by being busted by him I actually came Second. (Nice one Eck!)

Hoping to get an invite for the next one.

Forgot to say well done to Harmony, nice win to finish the evening.

Yes, a great event for us all, well hosted by the Sky Poker crew and The Broadway staff. Great to meet up once more with Tikay, spiny and Compo and all their hard-work and entertainment they put in for us all at these events.

Also good to meet the production crew and thanks for treating us gently in interviews! (no worries - shall understand if they don't make the final edit!  It was a good experience, thanks!).

Likewise, so good to meet up with special Blondeite good friends once more (Ed, Silo Graham, Foggy, and especially Eck and MickeyP for their support), APAt members and to actually meet folk we have played on "The Open" for the first time.  Yet another brilliant poker community being nurtured.

Well played, Bainn, coming 16th and being the winner of the Last longer Blonde wager. Very glad you were able to come with me in the end and to get on the reserve list.

Also congrats to MickyP and Ed for their successes in post-tourney games.

Congrats to Zukertort on a great main event win.

GL to future Open Live events - hope we are able to attend some more of them.

Finally I really would like to thank Tikay and Sky for a really beautiful and highly scented bouquet which really cheered what has been a tough week. Lovely, kind thought - thank you so much. x

I think anyone who was at last nights event and didn't enjoy it has a serious problem. To Sky, Tikay, Norman, Ed, Compo, Andy Selzer and absolutely everyone who made it a night to remember i SAY THANK YOU, and thank you for my chocolates, although i'm on a diet for my wedding they were much appreicaited.

It was really nice to meet the people the and put names to faces/avatars, and to meet poeople from blonde aswell. I hope as well as promoting sky poker lots of new people will join blonde too.

One thing i'd like to mention to some of the ladies who maybe got a bit upset by some of the lads (who were young drunk and a bit ott language wise) is to expect this in drunken male company and try not too get put off poker by this.  It was sad to see a female player go all in with rubbish. just to get away from a player in a sit and go.  if u know who i am talking about or u are reading this message, the best way to deal with this, is to wait till u get the nuts and put them out of the game..  I hope it didn't spoil your enjoyment or put u off going to live games in the future.

a great night

I'm very surprised that somebody did not shut the said person up. Young people who think they can behave as they like at the table need sorting out. They should be given a fifteen minute cooling off period and then kicked out the game if their behaviour does not improve. This is a great game and I for one will not let boorish behaviour go unchecked at a table........please join me in stamping it out. It is up to us the normal people to not stand idly by

Good to see Ed got some much needed TV coverage tonight, a picture from the event featuring Ed was shown on tonight's "The Open".

Mind you, I forgot to say, I had a number of people come up to me during the event, stating they had seen me on the show and enjoyed it.

No, I was knackered and went to sleep and missed it, must set the video up.  Cheesy

As for the young person mentioned in the thread, he demanded ther Tournament Director give a  ruling in a £10 sit n go.    I did explain to him that if he had been concentrating that he wouldn't have made such a basic mistake.

For my first live event I really enjoyed myself.
All the blondes I spoke to were top blokes (plus tikay!). Grats to Bainn for being the highest placed bonde in 16th or so I believe, just outside of the money.
Hope to see some of you again the next time i venture out to that big room beyond the front door with a high blue ceiling and play a live event.

All in all a good weekend. Certainly better than what looked to be the most sour faced hen party I have ever seen!

Not when I was with them. Only took 24 takes to get my piece right! Although the hen wasn't too impressed when I kept getting her fellas name wrong! oops.

Thanks for the tremendous feedback on the Birmingham Tournament. Thanks have to go to Tikay, who did most of the work setting it up, and to Norm and Ed for being there to play. We'll be talking very soon about where to hold the next one. Any suggestions?!
