Dear Mr Colchester Kev,

RE: blonde league

At the time of writing, I am in grave danger of finishing the abovementioned league with a grand total of zero points.  Oh the shame and embarrassment.  I would therefore be eternally grateful if you could do whatever you can within your power to ensure that I am seated with a lovely pair of gents who go by the names of Kingpoker and Kinboshi, thus significantly increasing my chances of scoring some points.

Yours sincerely

Dear Ms Claw

In reponse to your kind note, I would like to assure you that i will do everything in my power to grant your requested table arrangements, If the said Kippers were for some reason appointed another table, I could always offer you tikay in their place.
I wish you well in your quest for points, and may offer you some reassurance that if Kinboshi can earn league points, ANYONE CAN !!

Good luck and may your poker god go with you.

Yours

Mr Colchester Kev.

Dear Ms Claw

RE: Defamatory Comments

It has been brought to my attention that you have felt it necessary to bring my reputation into question by aligning being placed at my table in a poker tournament to having a greater chance of winning.

Although this could well be the case, you have partaken in a number of these events already - some of which I was present at your table, and others I was notable by my absence.  You managed to accrue a grand total of 0 (zero) points.  Therefore, my participation in these events seems to be completely unconnected to your lack of success, which instead should obviously be attributed to your gills, scales and fins.

Of course, having KingPoker on your table would certainly improve your chances as he is one of the most skilled artisans at donking off chips to other players. He is also Welsh.

Regards,

Kinboshi (Mr)

PS.  Kev - GFY.

I will be forwarding this on to a certain Mr Robert HM to clarify whether what has been maliciously aimed at myself in bold outline can be construed as slanderous. If this turns out to be the case, i will be taking the author of the post, a Mr Kinboshi, employee of the northern mining company and chairman of the "all englishmen look like a bunch of drag queens" committee to court where damages and loss of earnings will be claimed for myself, to increase the flock!

I bid you a good day and may someone cover up your gills and suffocate you.

yours Sincerly

Dear Mr Kinboshi,

I was under the impression that for comments to be defamatory they must also be untrue.  I am therefore a little perplexed by your suggestion that there were any such comments contained within my letter to Mr Kev.

I am rather confused about your reference to gills, scales and fins however.  My mate Gill is away on holiday at the moment, so I can't she how she is to blame.  As to my scales - lots of heavy people are very successful in the world of poker from what I have seen.  You might be right about the fins though - copying their style of play has got me into some trouble.

I wish you the very best of luck tonight - you will need it.

For comments to be libellous or slanderous they need to be untrue.  Also, to receive loss of earnings there has to be some earnings to lose in the first place.

The case for the defence rests your honour.

What are the odds of us three (and the main kipper himself, Fat Boy Slim) all being on the same table tonight?  It'd have to be the table we start on of course, rather than the final table...
