Have recentley come into a lump sum and looking to travel and play poker. Never been to Vegas but would be the first stop, how long can you stay there? do you have to pay tax after certain period? there is an Ir number or something you need?

Can a good profit be made out there at cash and mtts? can you get a good deal for a room for say a 3 month stay?

Thanks In Advance

good questions, looks like 90 days, you'd have to ring up the hotels to find out I don't think they let you book for that long on the interent.

I did find the official US page for this once but I've forgotten how. This gives some info

If you are planning on staying that long, I'd look at renting a place...gotta be much be cheaper

On the tax front, you're probably OK as you aren't a US citizen or staying over 12 months.

However, any tourney winnings over $599 MAY be reported by the Casino at the time and tax withheld...it seems to be a bit hit & miss. That said, they can run you through the paperwrk in an hour or so (I hear) and yo get your tax back.

Can a profit be made....if you are making one now..I'd say yes...just beware of the variance!
