Now that Charlton have taken the decision to disband their Ladies team, they were the only real competition.

Darn shame really, they took over Croydon Ladies who were the best team in the borough, branded them as "Charlton" then dumped them because the blokes team got stuffed.

Heard about this the other day. Think they are using the relegation as an excuse to be honest. i am assuming that they thought there may be money in it and it hasn't turned out like that.

Didn't Arsenal do the quadruple anyway last season? both cups, league and euro cup? and won every game in the league.

Sad really, the ladies teams cost little in relation to the mens team, barley 100k for the year at most. My wife is upset she started out in this country playing for croyden with Hope powell and the rest of the lesbo's that the club was famous for, it was alot more friendly and welcoming than Arsenal ever was. They then went to Charlton and remained and great club to learn and play for.

She went on to play for Arsenal and Leeds but Charlton and the friends she made there will remain forever.
