Joe Hachem has arrived, although fashionably late.

Thank God, I was worried to death, and his dinner's burnt to a crisp!

Scandinavian and Luske pal Martin Vallo just won a nice pot, his 5k bet called on the River of a . He didn't seem overly confident when asked to show, but his A-A-J-4 for trip Bullets was enough to take it down.

This is how close I was to tripping up the Tournament Director and being thrown out of the arena...

Table Lisandro just made an "oooh" noise like when someone gets outdrawn, and it looked like there were, in fact, no chips in front of Jeff Lisandro, just a -Ks-x-x on a board of ..... which no longer looked so good against Henning Granstad's -Ahrt-x-x.  I was just about to report one player as out, and one as having outdrawn, when I was made aware of two things:

1)  It was all-in preflop.

2)  This tournament is a Second Chance tournament, and while most players seem to have gone for the full 20,000 in chips (!) right away, some, like Lisandro, didn't, and he was all in for less than 5k.  A red chip which I thought was a card protector favoured by many of the players is in fact their 2nd chance token.

And they do such good work too - just listen to how helpful he was when Chris Ferguson came up with his ticket and asked where his table was:

"That's an entry to the Lowball."
"That explains why I couldn't find it.  You're a genius."

No problem, will keep an eye on the tic-tac-topped stack.

Also recently arrived Dutchmen are Marcel Luske and Noah Boeken.

Late arrivals, or late spots:

Chip Reese
Max Pescatori
Chris Ferguson
Dario Minieri
Surinder Sunar
Erik Lindgren
Patrick Bueno
Sam Farha
John Juanda
Jennifer Harman
Davood Mehrmand
Johnny Lodden
Julian Gardner

And Mads Andersen, who apparently is topping the Day One chip leaders in the $1,500 NLHE which started yesterday too.  Will there be some multitabling going on later?

The Irish lad (kitted out in GJP gear) pictured earlier with Marty Smyth has used up his first set of 10k chips, beaten by two pair (tens and fives) on an 9-6-K-5-T board.

Edit: Irish lad = Dave Callaghan... thx Flipper

I saw Tony G check-calling 1,100 on a board of .  The river brought a , and Tony G checked again.  His in position opponent bet 3k, and Tony instantly announced, "Raise."  He just sat there for a minute, but eventually threw in two day-glo orange 5k chips, and his opponent passed.  He showed the , weirdly.  I think the other two might have been more relevant...

Nice pot for Phil Laak, his set of Jacks holding up on a board against Mateyboy's , a blank two hearts hitting the River.

"Can one of you reporters tell me how that blank managed to come?" requests The Unibomber.
