John Smeaton is a Scottish working class hero. Having a smoke on his break on Saturday afternoon , he thwarted what
could have been a suicide attack.
America has Jack Bauer , Glasgow has John Smeaton.
only in Glasgow will a terrorist end up in hospital after being done in by a baggage handler.
show your appreciation for John. a true hero.
Buy him a pint at
www.johnsmeaton.com
be sure to read the comments and links , some hilarious stuff on there.

Just read some of the comments on Smeato's site. This is a classic..

Smarmy Human Rights Lawyer: I want the truth, I am entitled to the truth.
Smeaton: Son, we live in a world that has airports, and those airports have to be guarded by men with guns. Whose gonna do it? You? You, Sgt. Weegie? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Suicide Bombers, and you curse the Polis. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Suicide Bombers death, while magic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives and baggage. You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want me at that airport, you need me at that airport. We use words like fag, buckie, cu*t. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent moving baggage. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a bag, and stand have a fag at the airport . Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you are entitled to.

President Truman decided to drop an atomic bomb on Hiroshima instead of sending in John Smeaton.
he felt it was more humane.

Half the money raised on the buy John Smeaton a pint site is going to Erskine I read somewhere today.
Nice gesture and all that, worthy cause etc etc, but I can't hide from the fact that my illusion of the big chap have been shattered somewhat.
It's all very well that he takes the terrorists on two at a time and all that, but I'll not have a poster over my bed of a man who drinks halfs ffs.
