The deal was for £20 million not £27 million. He took a pay cut unlike what half the tabloids claimed he wanted. Most importantly it is a 6 year deal.

It's also come out other clubs were interested and bid more for him but he said the only club he wanted to go to was Liverpool.

It's starting to fall into place bit by bit. Let's hope he lives up to his potential.

Without doubt a quality player and probably a great signing. He is a good goalscorer and thats might just be what Liverpool need.

Will be interested to see if he will do it in the Prem as it doesnt seem to be the easiest league for the spanish to adapt too.

I think the biggest let down was Morientes as he'd actually done it in other leagues and has done it again since leaving England. There is definately a wait and see element there with Torres but I'm much happeir that it's £20m not £27m!

£20m + Garcia does that not amount to the same thing?

Its irrelevant how much he was. Liverpool isnt a business anymore and it won't change how many goals he scores.
I think he'll do well without being a RvN or TH.

According to Guilleme Balligue it's £20m including Garcia.

I'm not sure the deals weren't mutually exclusive though.

Vastly overrated, lightweight, looks like a guarantee shit first season IMO.

Possibly, but hopefully not.

You reckon?  He's done more in 4 and a bit games than Shevchenko has managed during his time in the Premiership.  Torres certainly isn't lightweight either - he's taken to the Premiership very well and seems sooooted to it.

I think you can tell from the way he has taken some of his chances that he is the real deal.
