Thats puzzled me for a while also, Heard it was something to do with he claimed he wanted to go to Arsenal at the beginning of last season.

A 5m man at best. Doesn't score, doesnt create chances or hold the midfield. I'm puzzled as to how he is captain of everything he played in last year and cost 8.5m. Villa are looking like a bit of a soft touch with their new money based on this deal.

Its a lot of money IMO - but I think he will prove to be a fine signing.  He has shown he has talent, obviously gets on with Young, and I am sure he ticks many box's for O'Neil.  He is quick, strong, plays the simple ball and is not going to run away from a 50/50.  Also young and English.  Talked myself into it a fine signing.

I think it's a good signing.  OK saying he doesn't score and whatever, but he wasn't exactly playing for a side that scored a lot last season.   Martin O'Neill will turn him into a good player this season

Because he played the whole of last season without heart after he was refused a better contract.

West Ham fans thought they had another Ince situation - you know what they're like...

Does anyone have a link to the vid of him and Ferdinand trying to act like 'homies wiv their possie on some MTV show', it shows everything that is wrong with some footballers these days.

LoL... your right, could be either, but Parker has more grit and control over a midfield.
