Jump forward a few days. Went to Stanley Notts last night, hooked up with Maria, but we decided to abandon ship when it became clear they'd not get more than one table. Bugger!
So she said she was hungry, & dragged me kicking & screaming to one of those foreign restaurants, Dindos or something. Had chicken, but it had been messed about with, it was "hot". Nice, like, but not up to the standard of proper chicken - KFC.
Maria, along with Tom, have been nagging me for about a year to buy a Tom-Tom, but I'm not very good at shoppingy things. Anyway, we get into a debate, I say Tesco's sell them, she says they don't, so we have a £10 bet, & toodle off to Tesco's. We planned to drop into Rob's Boozer on the way, the Broxtowe Arms, for a natter, but there were no Bentleys or Ferraris parked outside, so we did not go in, we assumed Rob was not there.
Got to Tesco & won my bet - they DO sell Tom-Toms. But were out of stock.......
Anyway, chatting to Tom this moirning, & he's gone out to buy me one today, & I'll pay him tonight - we are both going down to Luton. I just want the basic model (but wide-screen version, I got bad eyes), & Tom wants to upgrade his one, so he's gonna buy the Upgraded version he wants, & swap the simcard or something. I dunno quite what that means, but I'm sure it'll be OK. I am really hopeless at buying things.
While Maria & I were in Tesco's last night, we had a butchers at the clothing department.
How DO Tesco's do it? Lovely sweaters, 2 for £10, shirts, £3 each, tee-shirts & tops, £2 each. Decent, too - you can buy, wear & chuck 'em away at that price! They sell the "Cherokee" range, lovely casual shirts for £8, exactly the same shirt is £29 in GAP!
Maria had recently noticed I carry my Credit Cards & "plastic" loose in my pocket, & so she gave me a present - a lovely leather card-holder thingy. How lovely! I think she's trying to make a move on me. I noticed that when I winked at her, she went all weak at the knees, & was salivating. It's understandable, I suppose.
Then we drove back to Notts, I walked Maria to her car, & that was that, a lovely evening.
So that's 3 weeks running when I've had a lovely "non-poker" evening with nice folks, & I've absolutely loved it, we get too insulsar in poker, especially me, as I work & play poker, both sides of the table, pretty much 24/7. I had an evening with Claw, Tantrum & Bolty, huge fun, & a real eye-opener, last week it was the fruitcakes Jen & Dana, & this week, Maria.
Life is so good.

So Tom's Tom Tom becomes Tikay's Tom Tom whilst Tesco's Tom Tom becomes Tom's Tom Tom?

I think they make the Chinese three year-olds stiching them together work 22 hour days, whereas Gap give them every other Thursday off.

Apparently they don't do them with swappable cards these days, they all have built-in hard drives so I bought you the standard wide-screen UK model.
When I say I bought it I don't mean I bought it, I mean you bought it. I just shopped for it and paid for it. Well when I say paid for it....

Be careful what you wish for Snatty, I''m no slouch in drivel myself.
Black you feet and lace your toes up, I'll see you later.

I hope it has a very bloody wide screen Tom, for goodness sake he can not even read his cards held at arms length.

To be fair though, he is a bit of a knuckle dragger.
