A Garden-Party at Wigwell Grange, John Kirkland's abode.
A Grange set in 700 acres of Derbyshire countrysisde, how good does it get? If I had not retired, I woulda have moved nto one of the Cottages in the Grounds & eventually became a sort of caretaker there. He had wildlife galore, & hated it, what battles we had. And another criminal prosecution, bat-related this time.

I believe the engine driver was Elizabeth, I remember digging the article out of the times for you when you mentioned it previously.

Yes, I remember that, & with huge gratitude, too. An amazing moment in my blonde life.
I can't tell you how much that meant to me.
And thanks to Bongo, too.

I'm surprised you enjoy them James, you being so young & dudey, but thank you.
No, that's not my wifey, I don't have one, that was Wendy, my partner for 11 or 12 years. She buggered up my retirment a treat, by leaving me, & that gave me a need for work, to dull the pain, & from that came Sporting Odds, Wm Hill, TV work, blonde, APAT, Sky Poker, & another mini-career. See, things always work out, somehow.
Swindon? The new Poker Massive, yay.

No, it was not a shame, it was clearly not meant to be, but shit happens in life, & it's best to just get on with it. Nobody died. Setbacks are part of life, how you overcome them is the litmus-test.
I've heard all about the Swindon boys, & I know a few of them - I must try & get down for a game one night, & you can all school me.
You're a decent lad, you really are.

So true, but you need to reach a certain age before that moment arrives. It's arrived for me, & I'm having a long look back these days, & loving it.
I'm being pestered (wrong word) to write a book, & it's 10/1 against me doing that - no, make that 20/1 - but I want to jot everything down, you never know, the Diary is quite a "prompt" for me.
I've just realised it's stumbled over the 1,000 page mark, good grief. Got a vote in "Most Controversial Thread of the Year", too.

And with impeccable timing, I just got a PM - my 12,000th since I cleared the inbox 2 years ago.
What time-sponges Forums are. I have had a lot of forum fun, but when I eventually look back for the final summing-up, just before G-R turns up, I think I'll think that those years might have been better spent.
