I had a 6pm-6am sleeping binge the other day too, it's amazing how it catches up with you so quick. Even when you're only sitting around at a table most of the time, you still end up super tired
After reading your blog from yesterday, I am going to have to mooch over to Starbucks before I play and pick myself up a couple sticky buns. I've not had one since I got here, far too much red meat though and I'll probably be sick of steak by the time I leave!!
I think it takes a week or 10 days before our body clocks adjust to the different time zone, & I've just reached that point. I do my usual "office" stuff, too, so I work & think in two time zones at the same time, & I don't think that helps.
Now, suddenly, I am struggling to wake up at 5am, as I have been doing previously.

It came back to bite me......I wrote this yesterday......
I'm having a "rest day" from poker today. I decided not to play any further Hold Em events this trip, & I cannot see anything that suits today.
I'm not gonna play for the sake of it
Today, I'm itching to play, & there are no non Hold Em events!
The choice seems to be.....
Venetian $600 NLH, Noon, ikely to have a huge field.
Caesars $240 nLH, Noon
Caesars $120 NLH Turbo, 4pm
Binions $150 NLH, Noon
Golden Nugget $1,000 NLH (1 hour clock, 30,000 chips), Noon.
Rio Daily Deepstack, $235, 2pm.
Wynn Summer Classic, $550, Noon.
Incidentally, I will NOT be playing the WSOP $3,000 8 or Better, as it clashes with other committments.

My working hours are pretty messy at home and I normally live on roughly Vegas time anyway.
The only day that is a struggle for me is the day I fly and this year I didn't manage to see the day through to night before sleeping. (I don't have the getting up at 5am problem as normally go to bed gone that time unless I'm playing the next day
)
I'm playing the Nugget comp today, hopefully it will go better than the other $1k I played and I'll make my first cash of the trip......
Should be a really good comp and they have 2 Starbucks here at the Nugget too

Tempted, yes, but I think the boys play too good for me in Hold Em these days. I could get lucky, & run good, though......

It's a 1k WSOP event today though so that will possibly attract a lot of the better players and maybe make it more appealing. The Binions $1k was on the same day as the $1.5k PLO8 and the $3k Limit which a lot of them probably didn't play.
The Binions comp whilst having some obviously very good players in it, also had an enormous number of people who were happy enough to punt their chips off as quickly as possible.
Doesn't say a lot for me as I never managed to get any of them.....

Your recent blog was perfect. If someway you could couple it with the Jeeves one they fit together like hand in glove. I would assume when you see a British piece of magnificent engineering like a train or bridge you will have a sense of feeling or pride Tony. Well let me tell you something if I may, whenever some of us read your blogs we get that same feeling of pride being in an honoured group to actually know you personally. Keep up the good work. It really is appreciated. Thx

Talking of which, I had a PM from someone who said they had worked out the identity of Jeeves - "
it could only be one person, as they write so well".
The identity of the writer suggested?
Red Dog.
Damn, Jeeves has been rumbled.

Today's somewhat forced offering is now up.
It was hard work today, & I fear it shows, though I guess the fact that I did nothing but sleep yesterday was bound to leave me short of original material. Ho hum.

I think you've misjudged Mr Gambis.
Splendid well-adjusted sociable type who is prone to make off the cuff attempts.at humour in press conferences about very dull workaday stuff.
You're obviously right about the pulchritudinous Ms Coren's skills though.
