Ahh, thanks Rod. We got tricked!

THey could be a gift from Dubai, the US or Australia - Racing colours are registered in indivisual states in the USA & Oz, so it'd take more trawling than I've the time to do to check them out overseas.

Thanks Rod, It MUST have some significance, so maybe it was a "Diplomatic Gift" from some Nation.

You could write to No 10 directly - they don't guarantee answers to emails, but will answer letters.

Winner!

Wonderful find, thank you.

Now we can sleep easily in our beds.

Talking of which, I could not sleep last night, despite being dog-tired. What a dreadful malaise insomnia must be, & my sympathy goes to all such sufferers.

I'm a lifetime "head hits pillow, gone" sort, I literally fall asleep instantly.

I literally fell asleep one evening last week whilst I was typing a Post on blonde. Extremely interesting Post it was, it even sent me to sleep.......

Copied from Mark Wallinger's Wikipedia page :  "His 1995 Turner Prize nomination was largely thanks to his work of the previous year, A Real Work Of Art. This was actually a racehorse, which the racing fan Wallinger had bought and named "A Real Work Of Art" with a view to entering it in races and therefore causing this "art" to be piped into bookmakers up and down the country. It would thus be a further development of Marcel Duchamp's readymades. As things turned out, however, the horse was injured, and only ran one race."

So how's the exercise programme going Tone?

Not very well, Tom, to be honest.

I've been walking to my local Tesco every other day, half a mile each way, which is not much really, but I've never walked anywhere in my life, so it is an improvement. I've not done any more of those 10 mile walks though, it took me so long to recover from that. It was typically daft of me going from zero to 10 miles in one go really.

I'm just so tired all the time these days. Three days this week I have not woken up until 10am, which is unknown for me, & everything is an effort.

Part of the problem I suppose is my current crash-diet, where I've shed almost 2 stone, & only have 3lbs to go before target is achieved. There is, obviously, a balance between fuel consumed & expended, & I'm not taking in much energy at the moment.

Don't want this to sound morbid, & it does not depress or trouble me in any way, as it's perfectly natural at my age, but I'm starting to feel & see the symptoms of my age in so many ways. Lack of energy, little health niggles, & more & more, intermittent brain farts, where I forget simple things or make silly mistakes. The latter - the brain/mind activity - troubles me somewhat. The thought of going gaga is not a pleasant one. At present, I can recognize my problems, so that is good, but it exercises my mind every day now.

Another part of the problem - perhaps the cause - is the amount of stuff I try to cram into every single day, there is just never enough time to do everything I want to do. I'm blessed really in that I've never been bored for a moment, in my entire life.

I enjoy working, recreation, relaxing, everything, but I aslmost never get chance to just chill, & relax. I play a little Omaho & PLO8 most nights, which is incredibly relaxing, I just sit there quietly, bad beats never trouble me, neither does questionable calls by others, it is SO relaxing, & I don't lose any money.

Work is good, too. I get more pain from work than you can imagine, via rudeness & insults from Clients, which I'm not allowed to respond to, so I just have to sit there & take it. And some of them only do it because they know I am not in a position to reply in kind. Pretty low, IMO, but they'll wait, & when I retire, or get the tin-tack, I'll speak my mind.

But there is much fun at work, too, & I get to do some very satisfying jobs. Amongst other things, I am currently responsible for selecting members of Team Sky Poker to play the Monte Carlo, & ringing up those I select & telling them they are in is as enjoyable as it gets.  The downside, of course, is the reaction of others who have not been so fortunate, they get a bit arsey with me. Zing & zang.

At home, we have that Tips thread, which takes up so much time, but is tremendous fun, & we have made a bit of money, too. We have so much fun, it is real old-fashioned blonde Community fun, & I love it to bits.

The problem is that I rarely find time to update my Diary these days, which I much regret, it is such a peaceful & friendly oasis for me.

I seem to do more blonde stuff "off-Forum" these days, trying to keep the peace is better done quietly, away from those who hanker for aggro. I get on, on average, 30 PM's every single day, & I reply to every one, though sometimes not as quickly as I would wish. I enjoy getting them, too, unless they involve aggro. Why do so many folks enjoy causing aggro, it baffles me? Empty bored lives I suppose.

On balance though, all good, just wish there were more hours in the day.

Retirement is in my mind, but the thought of doing nothing all day would do my head in.  I really don't know where to go from here.

There you go, you asked.....

x

We did offer in Vegas to respond on your behalf!

When you respond, maybe you could start by saying "no offense intended" - Apparently by saying this you can say what you want! (I think you will know the post I am referring to!)

And less of the retirement talk, as they say, plenty of life left in the old dog yet!

Ahh, thanks Matt.

Being insulted by all & sundry seems to go with the job. It's OK, but I wish it were not like that. Turning the other cheek is a rare skill it seems.

Many folks loathe the train service, or bus service, but they don't insult the bloke who oils the wheels.....

Hope you are well & in good heart.

so who is team sky next weekend then?

Next weekend? I hope not!

Details will be announced shortly, Patrick. Can't say too much, as there are still two slots to be announced, although I can say that it includes Thewy, Scotty77, & TommyD, all of whom are well known on blonde.

You will not know many of them, they are a mix of different people, some "regulars", some, by absolute intention, "recreational". The idea is for the eleven of them to just enjoy themselves, & for the Business to make a bit of noise.

I have not forgotten that splendid question of yours "describe a typical day at work". I could really get myself in trouble with that one, I do so many different things.

Today has been a perfectly lovely morning though. Really.

Shortly, an awkward Telecon.

Another difficult Telecon tomorrow morning, the Weekly Management call, then prepping for tomorrow night's Show, in which we are doing a "Masters Golf Preview".

And I am the.........unmm......expert.

There you go, two days in a few sentences.

EDIT - Jeez, it IS next weekend! (19-21st). See, another bloody brain-fart......

I just heard that Lady Thatcher has died.

I am tempting fate here, where I don't like to see politics or rudeness, but that is just - to me - so very sad.

She very much shaped the Britain we live in.

I hope she is, for at least a decent period of mourning, respected.

I dread to look at what is being said of her on Twitter.

RIP Lady Thatcher.

I think you'll find that's exactly the problem many had with her.

Re the insomnia. Mrs Red has, until now. been an instant go to sleeper. I was the insomniac in the family.

A few months ago, all that changed, and we reversed roles almost simultaneously.
