I am pretty sure the BA story tops that, going back quite a long time ago they used to sponsor a team (not sure who) during a race there was a very serious crash which resulted in a fire, someone @ BA then had the image in their mind of the BA sponsored teams car on fire. What a picture that would make, burning wreckage with a British Airways logo.

They pulled their logo's by the next race but had obviously agreed the contract so the money was spent!

Of course Surtees chose this sponsorship so that his cars never had to pull out.

"'Ere, John - you want to get a bit of rubber put on the front of your car in case you bump into something"

"Good idea - I'll get right onto it"

On race day:

"Er, John, that's not what I meant."

Hope you make another Vegas trip soon Tony, but pleasure only, sounds like a grind working in LV from recent posts?

Before I start this year's Vegas blather, I wanted to list my Vegas likes & dislikes before I set off, but you know how it is, I'm not too organised, & it never happened. By the way, I've loved all the Vegas Diaries this year, & I hope it becomes the norm for blondes to tell us their Vegas tales.

So, my Vegas likes & dislikes.

Dislikes.

Constant queues, eveywhere, all the time.

The heat.

The tacky architecture.

The constant background music, everywhere.

Air-Conditioning.

The amount of Stretch Limos - I've never understood why anyone would think a Stretch Limo is cool.

The sound of a 1000 slot machines, all out of tune with each other, as you enter any & every Hotel Lobby.

Traffic on The Strip.

The sleaze.

Lack of greenery, grass, trees, nature, wildlife.

The journey.

Likes

The way Tourney Poker over here is organised.

Being able to find a Live Tourney 24/7.

The quality of the Dealers.

Meeting Brits out here, it seems that extra bit special to meet up so far from home, a sort of bonding develops.

The local Police - they look so cool.

Yellow School Buses.

Hooking up with friends, particularly Lady Mason, Phil Quayle, & Thewy. And this year, Jim McShane.

Going home.

Jaw-Droppers

The size of the Hotels.

The size of the Hotel Parking Lots.

The size of the Hotel Rooms/Suites.

The Airport - so close to The Strip.

Hoover Dam

The Grand Canyon.

I wonder how many of these will have changed come going home time? Thi is my third "paid" Vegas jaunt, & they have all been workbased, so maybe I'd think different if I came here just to play poker.

What are your Vegas Likes, Dislikes, & Jaw-Droppers?

Any changes.

Panes Pains of glass?

Don't feel bad Tikay.  Within a few days of landing in Ohio, Sinead walked right into the screen door at my mom's house.  We all laughed our backsides off.  The next day I managed to run into the same screen door.  Two weeks later, the marks are nearly gone.  Sigh.

This probably comes as no shock to most of you but what I remember about Vegas is this: Tikay and some of the Sky Poker team went to the World Buffet at the Rio for lunch and a chat. That's one of the biggest buffets in Vegas serving dishes from across the globe. You can pile Mexican, Italian and Chinese on the same plate. Which I did. Tikay had chicken and a baked potato...because he doesn't like foreign food. And he paid for everyone.

Sugarcane's a type of grass - so not strictly a vegetable.

Close enough for TK's purposes surely?
