it was only during Sheriff's round on casino game odds that the futility of life struck him and he re-doubled his efforts to get his poker back on track

he got back on track.... i lost the will to live..

i know jon will be reading this thread and will be most grateful for the support. when i spoke to him he said he needs at least 3rd to cover the cost of his phone bill.... such has been the level of support from the brits.

Too right Norman, as it happens working from home on Wednesday GO GET EM JON  thumbs up

Do we know much about his fellow final-tablers? Do any of them have 'previous'? What's he up against?

Seat 1 - Jon Kalmar - 20.32 million
Seat 2 - Lee Childs - 13.24 million
Seat 3 - Philip Hilm - 22.07 million
Seat 4 - Jerry Yang - 8.45 million
Seat 5 - Raymond Rahme - 16.32 million
Seat 6 - Tuan Lam - 21.315 million
Seat 7 - Alex Kravchenko - 6.57 million
Seat 8 - Lee Watkinson - 9.925 million
Seat 9 - Hevad 'Rain' Khan - 9.205 million

Come on Jon Kalmar - never heard of you until a few days ago but boy would I love for you to win this beauty!!!

Now GET IT WON!!!

Lets do something useful and get some background info on his opponents. Obv Hevad Rain Khan is a SnG machine. What of the others?

Lee Watkinson is a poker pro who has won already around 3 million bucks in his career. WPT and WSOP final tables.

He qualified online with Full Tilt, meaning that if he wins it he will be eligible for a 10 million dollar bonus from F-T

Philip Hilm made an EPT final table in Copenhagen and ran deep in the EPT grand final in Monte Carlo this year.

Hevad "rain" Khan- Famous for his multitabling of SNG's on stars, but actually got totally owned in higher stakes sng's and dropped a bomb. Apparantly has a solid record in online MTT's

Lee Watkinson is a name you know if you watched lots of TV poker, finished 2nd in 2 WPT and has a WSOP bracelet in Pot Limit omaha, he is definitley the live pro of this final table.

Alex Kravchenko- Is a name i know but im not sure why, after a bit of digging he has a very good WSOP 07 winning a bracelet in omaha hi lo and a final table in HORSE.

The rest are unknowns.

I played with Jon up in Blackpool at one of their festivals last year and he was one of the nicest guys at the table. A real gent and great fun too.

He would be a fantastic ambassador for the whole of poker.

Take it down Jon......just getting there is awsome......

What can I say that has not already been said. I have had the pleasure of meeting this guy on a number of occasions and he really kcked off my game about 5 years ago after chatting to him at a live game about strategy and then via Email.
He is a super agressive player (a strategy that has been criticised if you read pokerplayer reports of day 6) who will be very hard to handle at the final table. I believe he knows how to play this situation, will have super guidance from the team supporting him and will play a fearless game. I really believe he deserves being bookies favourite and I for one will be immensely proud if he takes this one down.
I will be cheering for you the whole way.....Do this one for the Brits Jon, may the poker gods shine on you, all your luck be good and your pots be monsters.
