Well done that man. How many runners/buyin etc please....

And for Rodders too.

Embarrassingly, only 30 runners. (You HAD to ask, eh?).

The Buy-in was $330, & a "saver" was agreed for 5th & 6th, as it only paid 4 places. One of the shorties was a Brit, great lad, so I was happy to agree.

It's pretty small beer compared to what some of the Brits have scooped, but I'm as happy as I can be, & I know my (very considerble) limitations at this game. I rarely do well in big fields, I ain't got the game, but each to their own, & in short fields, I can make a living, & guarantee to be able to stay in poker, which does me nicely.

Can we say it was a field "in excess of 29 runners"?.....

As to the comments that the game over here is soft, if Compo & me can come out ahead - you are not wrong, the quality of play is pretty naff, on the whole.

I described the following play in my Diary, & I repeat it here - can you imagine a worse way to play 3-3? In fact, as it turned out, I got very lucky to win this hand, via a counterfeited pair, but I think this play sums it up, I think it was truly appalling for a $330 (£165) Tourney. I mean, talk about being able to "find a better spot", the geezer was in the Blinds, had me behind him, & he CHECK CALLED pre & Post flop!

Later, with 16k now, I R it up with this......

....but get called by the BB, who I cover easily. The flop was......

Well, LOTS of outs there!

He checks, I move in, he instacalls - and I can't believe his hand -  three clubs  ........! That some robust playing of a baby pair. I miss eveything, but get this turn & river - running Fives, to counterfeit his pair, phew!

Ah well, gotta take what you nan, where & when you can. I'm almost tempted to spend more time out here later in the year.

Thank you for all the nice comments.
