I was introduced to the delights of poker 3 years ago by a fellow chess player at a county game. By the way his name is Ian McDonald who cashed in 453rd at this years main event-nice one Ian! Got the bug and last year gave up playing live chess to concentrate on poker, although i still play correspondance chess. So i'm up for a game or two if you have any places left?

Not started anything yet - just gauging the interest (which seems to be decent enough).

If we have a league or a tournament going, it might be best to play timed 'lightning' chess games, rather than those that give a day for a move.

Interestingly enough, I came to poker from a chess background as well, I bet quite a few have.

Excellent - just noticed that Redhotpawn does offer blitz chess (as in games that are measured in minutes rather than days).

thumbs up

I'd be interested, but it'd have to be the blitz variety because I couldn't always guarantee to remember to come back and finish a game if it was over more than one day.

Whilst we look at setting up a blonde chess competition, anyone fancy a s-l-o-w game on redhotpawn.com?

kinboshi is my name (how imaginative?).

http://www.redhotpawn.com/profile/playerprofile.php?uid=379402

Click on that and challenge me to a game (best to set any games to 1 day to move, 3 days timebank).

thumbs up

Are there any sites that offer chess games for money?   I am not interested, just curious  Cheesy .  As a Kid I played in a few chess tournaments, but that was years ago.

The thing that completely kills playing chess online for money is that fact that for a few quid you can buy a computer program for your PC that can play better than all but a handful of players in world.
