Sometimes we lose perspective.  See last nights rant about Leeds and my on going boring blah blah blah about women and the rights I selectively chose to fight for.

Today brought me down to earth and made me realize that to some things are hugely important to others not.

My daughter is in hospital standard SLE flare up, so we think.  Today 2 weeks later Im expecting to bring her home.

Bang biopsy Kidney results come back.

Kendra is in stage 4 Lupus Nephritis, she is extremely ill.  She is starting Chemotherapy on Monday her Kidney Consultant and Rheumotologist are new to us as she is no longer treated as a child, at 17 the NHS make her an adult.  She is still my baby.

We listen to what the specialists have to say I sob my heart out the whole way through.   Kendra says come on mum there a people worse off.

The specialist carries on, I explain I am scheduled in London for more surgery August 8th, your not cancelling mum we ll manage we always do.   The surgeon says there is no need  and my MUM is with out doubt the most supportive best friend anyone could have and Clive is the greatest man in the world.  So we will manage.

We know the side effects of chemo we have been here before,  but the point of my post if anyone actually gets to the end.

The Specialist get up and ask do we have anymore questions Kendra immediately replies.

Ive qualified in a pairs golf competition and I really dont want to let my partner down.  It s only in Worsley but its sponsered by Ping and I would really like to win through to the next round.  Can I play if Im okay even if you only give me like a day pass.

The doctors looked at one another and said Kendra if you have decided you can do it, we believe you can go and give it your best shot and take our good luck with you.

PS.   I NEED PENS THE NURSES NEVER HAVE ANY, SO EMPTY YOUR DRAWS OF ALL THE CASINO PENS YOU HAVE PICKED UP AND GIVE THEM ME     PLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEEEE

Sorry to hear your daughter is so sick Paula but she sounds like she has a good fighting spirit and im sure she will beat this. Good luck with the surgery and I hope you are both well soon. xx

Unfortunatly I can never find a pen in my house, why dont you give a couple of the big banks a ring and ask if they can donate some?

Such a traumatic time ...we face death in the face on a dayly  basis with a son / grandson who is gifted to the highest degree..with a normal life. He knows no difference, he does not know he is poorly ,,, here is a bit of strength .. I cant give you much as i have to retain some for my family...xx
